No, it doesn't have to be in 2022.It has to be in 22, but with Goodells randomness who knows.
Maybe they suspended him 8 games, every even week starting week 4
But, it probably will be.

Be interesting if Watson gets a suspension but it served in 2023. Seeing how he had his contract structured to minimize financial damage if he is suspended in 2022, I could see Goodell doing that (2023 suspension)
They would still be carrying 4 QBs. Inactive players still count against the 53 man roster. It's also a slippery slope putting guys on the IR.They wouldn't be carrying 4 qbs. They'd make him inactive every week until the season was over. And all this is in the highly unlikely event he doesn't get traded.
And who said something about travel? You did. When you said he'd be sitting on the bench watching Jacoby play. That's not going to happen either.
I never mentioned Carolina. That ship has sailed from all reports. Keep in mind there are less and less suitors for BM. Will his distractions be worth keeping him? I personally don't think it is.But if you dump Baker for anything as you suggest it has cost you close to $19 mil in salary for Baker to potentially help someone else next year...maybe even help someone beat you.
I mean, let's say they do as you say, unload him to Carolina, Baker plays well and beats us in week 1. Instead of a Browns being Browns comment (which would be justified) you'd simply say they did the right thing?
spinning too much also makes people dizzy. Stop the world so you can catch up.Once again I want to remind you goal posts are heavier than they look so please get help when you try to move them instead of simply owning you made a foolish comment about all the high picks Baker had at his disposal in 2018 when he helped turn an 0-16 team to a 7 win team. Other years as well, as not many 1st rounders on offense for him.
Just an FYI on your latest ramble.....I doubt any Browns' fans disagree previous Browns' regimes have been beyond dumb.
His doubters are fans, mostly from other franchises.I mean, it's weird you "look at his personality" if it suits you but ignore if it doesn't. Couldn't looking at his personality also make us believe he'd love to go on the field and prove his doubters wrong - again - as he's done so many times if asked to play this season for the Browns because watson is out a while?
Yes, and that is greatly attributed to ALL those picks from 14 on. Both good and bad.The 2 seasons before BM showed up? They were 1-31.
They went 7-8-1 in his rookie season.
Then why is Watson a scumbag?Watson's a scumbag and I'm very disappointed he now plays for my team. How can you call him a rapist when two separate grand juries didn't indict him?
Do you have legit proof he raped any of his accusers? Of course you don't.

The NFLPA doesn't look favorably at stashing otherwise healthy players on the list.
I did say watching Brisett, which I think is a strong possibility in this scenario. I can see where that could be inferred as to in the reg season and not just camps and pre season.
If the Browns eat say 8-10 mill they can get a 3rd or 4th rounder for Mayfield.....Maybe the Browns include a 6th rounder.Winston should not even be at OTAs if he had surgery six months ago. I don't think the Saints will trade for Mayfield because they have already traded their first rounder this year to Philly, but I guess that situation bears watching.
I had a chuckle.That isn’t funny

IF they will come to a decision by June-July I guess that is why some are wondering why so long (as we have heard June-July now for what seems like a month). What did they think would change by then? Now, I can agree if they want everything to finish up before a decision I can see waiting until 2023. But they should tell us they are waiting for this IMO.More suits are being filed and not one settled yet. This could drag out for a while, but think the NFL said they would come to a decision by June-July.
OK, and as I said they also did the same thing for the contracts of Ward and Garrett who do not have suits and a potential suspension pending. In addition, other teams do this for players who do not have suits/suspensions pending.![]()
Watson's new contract indirectly limits money lost in potential suspension
Despite reportedly giving Watson a huge new deal, the first year of that deal will keep the team’s cap hit low and, indirectly, minimize the financial penalty if the league suspends the quart…brownswire.usatoday.com
No doubt with hindsight that would have been the way to go....of course, only if they had a replacement. If Darnold could get you a 2 and 4 Baker would have gone for at least a 1 at that time.Even as a Browns fan there is no way they get a first rounder for him
Maybe had they traded after the playoff season
Yeah, not now.Even as a Browns fan there is no way they get a first rounder for him
