Is Amari Cooper the best WR in the draft?

It sounds like one of the late risers in the draft is Perriman because of a monster pro day workout performance.

A sub 4.3 40, 18 in bench and 36 in vertical.

Although he reminds me a little of Troy Williamson to tell you the truth. He might have the pedigree of a great WR (his dad was the Perriman who played with Detroit) and great workout numbers....but he isn't a natural catcher of the football at all.

Yes, he is followed closely by Kevin White.

People have a tendency to way over think things when it gets close to draft time. Cooper is absolutely the best wr in this class. If any wr is drafted earlier the team making the pick is, as the kids say, trippin.

Ah, the fine debate between potential (White) vs polish (Cooper). Both are plenty defensible in the top 5. Should be one of the more interesting sub-plots of the draft. Who is the WR1, and where does the 2nd one fall to?

Amari Cooper to the Raiders at #4! Leonard Williams was tempting but if the Raiders can get an edge rusher like Randy Gregory in round 2, then they fill the biggest voids coming into the draft. I like Amari Cooper, Michael Crabtree, Jones and Streater as wide-outs. Finally legitimate weapons for Carr.

The Titans could have paired this monster with Zach Mettenberger? :bawling:

Amari Cooper absolutely HUMILIATES Patrick Peterson on that play.

I wish I could find a vid of Cooper burning Terrance Newman in preseason this year. Obviously Newman is way past his prime but Cooper made it look like Newman had never played a down of football in his life before.

I am 2 for 2 in my fantasy drafts by selecting Cooper so far and hope to make it 3 for 3 after this coming weekend. Kid is going to be a stud right out of the gates.

Throw in have to expect he is going to get a ton of targets with not a whole lot else for Carr to throw to. So far we have seen them essentially force feed the ball to Cooper and I think that will happen into the season as well.

I doubt Lockett will do a whole lot as a WR, but he will for certain make a big impact as a returner right away.

In this video, Amari Cooper goes from dead sprint to dead stop in one yard. Just imagine if he didn't have to wait on the ball to be delivered!

Its crazy to see a team have so much success with later round drafts picks throw them all away on a special teams guy. I think they'll also incorporate him in the offense.

Sure, but as a rookie I just don't think he catches many passes. First of all, you're talking about an offense that throws it only about 25-27 times a game. Then he's going to be in line behind Graham, Baldwin, Kearse, and probably even Lynch & Luke W for targets. Eventually he'll be more of a prominent part of the passing game, but I can't see him catching more than a couple passes a game as a rook.

Edit: and just to add, I doubt Seattle's FO looks at Lockett as someone they "threw away" picks on. He's played in 3 pre-season games and has 2 return TDs and a couple other sizeable ones. That's a huge impact on the game and quite a jump up from what we had last year in the return game.

I don't think Seattle will always be a run-heavy team. When Lynch slows down in the next 0-3 years, they'll probably pivot to a more pass happy team like the Steelers did when they developed Big Ben
