If you were a coach and your objective was to deceive the opposing team on a fake punt, what would you do?
You might send various people in motion to create confusion.
yea, having a guy faint wouldn't really confuse anyone. you'd have better luck using a guy getting down on all fours and barking like a dog (assuming the field is quite enough for that).
also as mentioned, motion on a punt doesn't really make sense unless that's something you do regularly. the main thing to me on a fake punt depending on distance is like R_A said, make it look like you are actually punting. I think a lot of kickers could run for a first down on those rugby style kicks, where they take a little extra time. if the defense isn't rushing and focusing on a return, I think those could get a few yards pretty easily.
