Interesting salary cap note

I just saw this article and thought it was pretty interesting. Seems the salary cap will get a pretty big boost (not sure how much) in 2015. I previously didn't think it was possible for the 9ers to make a run at a player like Darrelle Revis, but if the cap get's a significant boost in 15, then maybe it's more possible than previously thought. Does that mean we move as much as we can into years 2015 through 2017 for Kaep's extension or was that the plan anyway?

Would have to say that was the plan anyway since when the CBA was signed I remember a tidbit about the salary cap being stagnant for a couple years then explode after that. I don't know why that was the case. New TV deal maybe?

Yeah the new TV deal kicks in, in 15. It's been stuck around 120 mil for 3 years (not counting 2010) so it's good to see a jump this year also. That unexpected 2.5 mil jump this year could help someone like Parys Haralson keep his job. At least I hope.
