I'm not going to get into a pissing contest over this. In my opinion, Miami has made more improvements to their team since 2021 ended than the Patriots have. The Dolphins beat the Patriots twice and the Patriots, as you have suggested, were markedly improved. With limited money and very little to draw players to NE, 2022 is going to be tough road to hoe. Miami still has money to spend and will most likely keep spending and trading.

That and Bill doesn't seem to want to bring on coordinators. I think that will also work against the Patriots in 2022.

Bill may be the greatest HC in NFL history but he also had the greatest QB/Player in NFL history running the offense for 20 of those years.
Miami's improvemenrs? They brought in a top 6 year veteran receiver lthis year, just like last year. Will Fuller got 4 receptions and 0 TD's

They brought in a top, OT that is a 9 year veteran who averages 8 games per year.

They have mortgaged their future by giving up there draft picks and giving huge long contracts.

They fired the 1st winning coach they have seen since Ross bought the team.

They bring back the same worst in NFL O-line that added an expensive OT that they know will likely not play half the games for next 5 years!

They hired a head coach with no experience with the Fins and no experience as a head coach. He is on a learner's permit.

They are going to have to rewrite their top defender's contract for the 3rd year in a row......

I could keep going. They are making quicker decisions than the Patriots!

For those that think that Miami is improving this year:

Will Armstead's addition to the O-line take them from the worst in NFL to the best?
Will his 8 games even take them out of the bottom 10 O'-lines?

Will this years 6 year WR addition be better than Will Fuller and Davonte Parker? They were both big name big contracts last year.
They are giving Hill an average of $30 million and gave up 5 draft picks.

Lot of "Name" players still looking for work. Tomorrow is April Fools and the scent of the draft starts to overtake the smell of the past.

The piles of money are getting much, much thinner. Here's the top 100 free agents remaining. Time to go bargain hunting.

Problem for them Reb, is that the longer they wait, the less money is available. Wagner just got a great deal from the Rams. Not too many teams are willing to piss off guys already signed by restructuring them for an aging name who might not make any difference.

I imagine that Bill has called just about all of these guys and told them to give him a call if things don't go their way before the 27th of April.

Adding Parker will give the Patriots and outside threat. It took a couple of years for the Dolphins to utilize his talents then they drafted Tua and then Waddle. His numbers dropped like a rock. Now Bill can take a breath and be a bit more selective adding another WR to the crew. My guess is that Harry and Agholor are no longer safe. Josh supposedly has interest in bringing him back to Vegas which would free up money and get BB a 4th, 5th, or 6th round pick. Not sure if Harry will find a new home or not unless he's just released.

Anyway, he's an excellent addition to this team.

Nice pick up. Not a real game changer but definetely adds some value.

Kind of surprised the Dolphins traded within the division.

Agholor trade would be a great gift idea for Josh to thank Belichick.
Harry will not make it past June 1st. We are only holding on to him as trade bait. When we need his cap savings, we will cut him if no trade offer.
Right now, his money is sitting in Bill's pocket, waiting for it to be spent.
Hell, bundle him with agholor! Give them a twofer

everybody that could afford to was waiting for Miami to cut him. Everybody else is wanting to see how the draft goes.

He is a game changer when healthy. He also is better on the sideline. Keep his Hammies healthy and he'll be a good receiver.
Remember NE leads the league in Hamstring care.

He hasn't lived up to his potential. Sure he has an occassional great game but his overall numbers just aren't there for me to call him a game changer. Screenshot_20220404-074241_Chrome.jpg

Nagging injuries have tarnished his career.
NE thinks they can manage his hamstring issues. If not, they can cut him without cost.

Sure, that's part of my argument. Potential for days. Needs to stay healthy and get into these off season workouts with Mac. Just maybe he becomes a game changer.

Another steal for BB if he does.

ESPN's Mike Reiss reports that the DeVante Parker trade "likely means the end of the road" for N'Keal Harry in New England.

As it usually does when a team trades for a big-bodied wideout to fill the big-bodied wideout role you were supposed to fill. Harry has never even cracked 350 receiving yards and has offered almost no special teams value, playing just 32 ST snaps in three seasons. Harry has a $3.2 million cap hit that can be reduced if he's traded, so the Pats will likely be shopping him at the draft. It's hard to come up with a team that should be interested off-hand, but there are probably enough Patriots regimes in the wild to spur some late-round interest.

So what a sixth round pick in 2032?

I am assuming Agholor will remain with the Pats as signing Parker should free him up a bit and he should be better

Here's a stat I saw last night on Sports Sunday on NBC Sports Boston:

In the past five years, The wide receivers with the best close in catches (Less than one yard between the WR and the defender)

Davante Parker 69
Julio Jones 68
Jarvis Landry 67

They then showed about thirty of these catches and two thirds were against Gilmore and JC. Most were sideline tip toe.
