The playoff win vs the Steelers was the first and only time that year the Steelers gave up 300 yards passing - that was not simply one lucky pass .. Why didn't opposing receivers get wide open all game in the other 16 games the Steelers played ?

And Tebow lost Eric Decker in the first half to the knee injury ..

What is not so memorable are the players around Tebow in that game

That Steelers defense was gutted by injury, and it still took overtime to get to 300 passing yards. That was the only overtime game the Steelers played that year. That and Dick LeBeau had one of the worst defensive game plans I've ever seen, and refused to adjust when Tebow started hitting deep passes on them.

Maybe, but I think DT had already show his big play capability. Remember the Vikings game? DT had 4 catches for 144 yards and two touchdowns. I think that was his coming out party.

But I agree with you that Tebow should have gone to Jacksonville.

There was a quote from Tommy Kelly that basically said that the Raiders were preparing all week on the fact that Broncos would be running more read option and they still couldn't stop it. The quote was in Sports Illustrated, but I don't have that copy on me at the moment.

Finally found the Tommy Kelly quote: "They running that college s---, that zone s---, quarterback's gonna hold it s---. Man, we practiced that s--- all week."

I doubt anyone cares, but it was nagging me that I didn't put the exact quote.

Well, I wouldn't say Tebow's first several games went well. He started 2-3. And Orton and Tebow may have had the same record over their last 5 games, but none of Orton's games were playoff games. That alone is enough for me to say Tebow was much better than Orton.



I have no idea what you mean by this. The guy who drafted him was Josh McDaniels. McDaniels never cut Tebow. I'm sure if McD wasn't a colossal screw-up in Denver, he'd have given Tebow an extended look as the starter. Would Tebow have failed? I can't say. But if I were a gambling man, I'd bet he'd go down fighting which is more than I can say for Orton. Or Cam Newton, for that matter.

Yes. Josh McDaniels drafted him. The same Josh McDaniels was also back leading the Patriots offense by the time they decided to bring Tebow in for a test drive as a Patriot.

His final game as a Bronco was a blowout at the hands of the Patriots. Timmy had 121 total yards ( including sacks)

I like this idea IF the Broncos are ready to move on from Clady. I can't see Schwartz with being a RT costing more than what it would cost to cut Clady but I can't see us paying both and then sitting our 2nd round pick that was/is expected to be one of our starters at the tackle position. You are wanting those 2nd year players to have developed enough to be able to step in and start. That is how you keep your Cap in check. The other option would be cut Vasquez and try to move Sambrailo inside. Again I don't see that happening as Kubiak already today just said that Sambrailo is a Tackle and that is what he will be this next year for the Broncos.
