Gotta go Gilbert at #10 now.

Gilbert and Slay on the outside is a lot of potential.

I'd say safety is a much greater need than CB rn. A CB will usually step it up in yrs 3-4, so this is the yr for Bill Bentley, Greenwood, and Jonte Green. I have a feeling that Darius Slay will be sneaky good too. Don't forget our new DC was a well respected DB's coach. We literally do not have anyone that could play FS on the roster right now. My top target would be trading down and drafting Haha Clinton-Dix

Ummmmm, where you said "It doesn't matter"........... And I realized we were at the point in the conversation where you stop giving a shit what someone else thinks. (FS went with calling me a twat instead of telling me to fuck off, which was a nice change of pace.)

Great, we're back to this shit again.

It doesn't matter...

Just quote me like a normal person please. Your mental and emotional issues have worn me out. Where did I call you a twat? And why are you hung up on Tate not being a no.1 in Seattle when we needed a no.2? I don't get it at all.

You honestly think this takes drafting a WR out of the equation at #10. We are talking about the Lions. They simply cannot pass up the new shiny toys for the offense.

If Watkins or Evans fall to #10 -- I wouldn't be surprised in the least to see the Lions draft him.

I didnt think they were drafting one at ten to begin with, signing tate doesnt change my mind on that one way or the other.

You summed it up pretty good. Those are the things that worry me. If Calvin goes down, Tate will get swallowed up.

That logic can be applied to any position though. If the best player at that position goes down the backup wont be as good. That doesnt mean the lions need two number one receivers. Tate is here to serve as a complement to CJ, if CJ goes down he goes down. The lions are better with tate than they were with burleson.

This just got more rediculous to me. How can they pay him this much and still, the team would be lost without CJ? This means the team has either wasted money or they still need a good WR. This seems to be a marginal upgrade assuming that Tate is considered the answer. He's good enough to continue being the player he is but won't change how teams play the Lions. It makes me wonder if the whole coaching staff was on board with this.

I dont get it. CJ is an elite talent, hes the best a his position, an MVP type player. Should the vikings pay millions just in case peterson gets injured? What about the packers, what if rodgers goes down, should they have a number one qb drafted just in case? Sorry your logic just doesnt make sense here. Unless you know something we dont, (CJ is retiring?) then why would the lions be looking to sign or draft a guy to replace him?

What I'm saying is that they paid him m too much. Tate might not even be as good as the first 5 WRs that will go in the draft. I just dont think they gain much with Tate.

Ah. I think its a relatively reasonable contract. Wont get into details of why I think the signing was a great move as I already elaborates on it but will say Im much happier signing a legitimate two WR and drafting a defensive stud at number ten, and the rest of the draft than I would be signing some defensive scrub and drafting ebron or evans.

I want to see some research on how 5 rookies might be (or might not be) better than Tate. Extraordinary claims needs some evidence to be considered as serious.
