Preseason means Diddley Squat...lol...IGGY WILL BE AMAZING...he will have more shutouts then any Flyers goalie in the last 5-7 years... of course looking back that would be like two...and if he doesnt...will turn on him and tarr and feather his russian ass...lol

Lol, you can count on 1 hand how many shutouts our starter has had over the last 10 years.

WHat is your point? That he kept them in a meaningless pre-season game with the exception of two maybe saveable goals? That we are better off with Leighton and Boucher? That Bob should start? That we should have signed Vokoun?

I see preseason as a time where players showof what they have, not teams. So by watching Bryz I should be able to see how he will be. His contract is awful, and I want to make sure that he plays for what it is worth. Id much rather have Bob playing for his 1.5 mil worth than Bryz playing for less than what he makes for the next 9 years.

THe contract sucks, no doubt. But if you took pre-season at face value, then GIroux wouldn't ever make the team. Neither would Kimmo. I can't imagine he will ever justify that contract, unless he wins a Cup. But, that doesn't diminish his skill set, or take away the fact that he is the first legit #1 the Flyers have had in over a decade.

Well Id say Dmen and forwards are a bit different than goalies. G and Kimmo are playing with AHL players (Granted against them too) while Bryz is letting in AHL goals.

I am not quitting on him, he is just not impressing me. I reserve my right to question this "Goalie" thing the Flyers have acquired.

I agree Propp but most free agent contracts suck so I don't blame Homer for it..it is what it is. On another note they didn't have to trade any assets to acquire Bryz so that's a huge positive that no one seems to mention. Remember last years rumors of acquiring schneider or bernier they were talking about moving carts to do that. If that were the case you can kiss Jake and Couturier goodbye so in the end I don't mind paying Bryz a little more....

Bryz will be fine. Rather have being the stud after all stR game and playoffs. This is why I'm glD we kept Bob. Btw, Hartnell sucks big balls. Time to cut ties and 4.2 million.

I am much more worried about Hartnell sabotaging this team than Bryz.

agree.. hartnell is the big problem right now.. he doesn't even try to play hockey anymore.. tonight the only thing he did was hit people that didnt have the puck, behind the net.. or hit people late after whistles (thought the one on the reviewed goal was total BS.. hartnell was getting cross checked, not cross checking)

bryz = couple bad games in a row, but has the ability (i believe) to get better

You can't blame Bryz for all of those goals heck Coburn kicked one of the pucks right to the blue who had an empty net. They also had that miscomminication that led to the 4th goal. Stuff like that won't happen come playoffs...they'll be fine.

I wonder if Hartnell wants out of Philly? I have not seen anything in the news in regard to this, but I think once Richards and Carter left town, it seems his playing is worse now that it was last season. His game is tanking worse and worse. I think a change in scenery would only help him. Question is, who wants him and his 4.2 million contract. I think a new team can restructure if he accepts and lifts his NTC. Then again, not sure.

I think putting Hartnell will Briere is just going to be wasting a great spot for JVR or Voracek or someone. At this stage Hartnell brings nothing beneficial to the table anymore. He is not tough, he doesnt score, he cant skate, he takes penalties, and his contract sucks. The cap space is seriously worth more than what he is to this team. Id love to see Harry Z up for him, even Rinaldo, at least they have their benefits.

Agreed he deserved a shutout but it seems that any Flyer goalie has to perform a minor miracle to get one these days. In any case he's starting to find his groove and its the perfect time to have him do it! We need him!!!
