If we are being honest about it, DeVonta Smith is going to establish himself as the best WR in the league within the next 3 years.

No, he stayed a year after getting benched. The in that year he stayed he came into the SEC Championship Game when Alabama was down after Tua got injured and lead the comeback win.

1. Was he benched at Alabama?
2..Did he transfer to Oklahoma after said benching?

By the way he wasn't benched until the 2018 season when Tua won the job outright. He left in 2019.

He is so supremely talented and perfect in his route route running and knowledge. People are going to look so silly in letting him drop to 10 just because of his unique frame. That frame does nothing but guarantee he will be one the truly unique all time great players when it is all said and done. Because when you talk about just his game, just what he does on the field in the actual game that is played which determines the winners and the losers in football. When you talk about that, he's flawless.

If there was ever a player who was going to give Rice and his records a run for the money then it's DeVonta Smith. Especially in this 17 game era that he starts his career in.

:pound:

He hasn't caught an NFL pass yet and you already have him as the best wr in a couple of years?

He was benched in the National Championship Game in the 2017 season. He stayed for another year instead of transferring at that point. He later came in after Tua got injured in the SEC Championship Game with Alabam down and he led the comeback win. He then transferred to Oklahoma where he finished as the runner up for the Heisman.

I cant belive im saying this. Smith gets the marvin harrison comparison alot.

marv was 6’0 185
Ab 5’10 185

smith 6’1 166(i know places have him listed higher, theres tons of rumors thats he

i see some AB. Not college AB, pro AB.

hes just a master technician.

his size is absolutely a concern. Hes 2-3 inches taller and 15-20 pounds lighter than those two. Bean pole. Theres always exceptions. But like josh allen, or hitting a tom brady in the draft... You make that bet 95/100 times your gonna make alot of money.

i again thought he was the best wr at bama the past 2 seasons. But this isnt college now. Im anxious to see what happens tbh.

This is correct. He was benched for tua, stayed because hes a good team mate, did come in and ball in the sec championship, got a chnace to transfer to okie with the qb whisperer lincoln riley, and went and was awesome. Here he is now. Still lots of question marks.

Odds weren't in his favor but going into 2018 it was open competition, he lost then bolted ai tge first opportunity.

I'm not even sure what you are trying to get at here. A QB that wants to play professional football should not transfer their senior year if they aren't starting?

Merely saying he wasnt the better qb at bama.

your counter argument should be . “No at the time he wasnt, he improved greatly while at oklahoma”

No, certainly doesn't seem like that's his argument. As nowhere have I said or refuted he wasn't benched. He seems to be trying to make it a negative about Hurts that he transferred which doesn't really make sense. But he's a big boy, I'm sure he can speak for himself without you trying to interpret for him.

That really isn't a good indicator of anything. Alot of guys have transferred because they weren't the starter. Baker, Kyler, Joe Burrow, Justin Fields, Hurts, and those are just some of the notable ones.

Never said that did I. I simply pointed out he lost his job to Tua.

Whould you agree with that statement?

Is it the truth?

When have I refuted that? I literally have no idea what you are trying to go on and on about.

Sure, but you came off as thought you were also implying something in that statement. Transferring is pretty common these days.
Yes it is, especially if you're 2nd fiddle

Thing is if RTK didn’t constantly tout Eagles as great on the NFL Football board, most of the anti Eagles posts would go away

Burrow was 2nd fiddle to Haskins. I'm not saying Hurts is going to be Burrow, or even those other guys I mentioned, but just because you lose your spot as starter doesn't really mean much these days.

I dont know this WR but when I watched his highlight reel. I could see him being like a D-Jax. Run deep get space & let any QB throw it deep to him.

Two things that made Marvin Harrison, Marvin Harrison. He knew how to run all the routes & he had one of the best ever throwing it to him.

Is Smith a route runner? Or is he just a speed Demon?
