I would be moving a hell of a lot faster than they are....
1. Tell Notre Dame they can keep their own TV deal if they and NBC help make sure any legal troubles with the Big East's current network partners go away(if that's even an issue).
2. Offer Army and Navy...because this is essential to staying out of Notre Dame's hair when it comes to their precious rivalry schedule.
3. 7 game conference schedule against your division and rotating additional conference opponent. Why?
3a. So you can allow Notre Dame to schedule whoever they want the rest of the year....like USC, Michigan, Michigan State....
3b. Because you really need to get as many home games as possible for ticket revenue since you don't seem to get butts in seats. This will allow all of your programs to schedule home games against cupcakes.....
3c. Takes some of the travel pressure off of the far flung schools, assuming they themselves schedule intelligently(home games against local cupcakes...you need this, Big East.)
8. The following divisions so that Notre Dame gets both Amry and Navy, and doesn't have to be scared of TCU and USF...or West Virginia. The Army/Navy game will have to be technically out of conference. LOL.
(Big East North)
Notre Dame
Navy
UConn
Pittsburgh
Syracuse
Rutgers
(Big East South)
TCU
West Virginia
USF
Louisville
Army
Cincinnati
9. BCS ranking determines who gets home field advantage for the conference championship game, because you'll never fill a neutral site, and once again...you really need to scrape up as many ticket sales as you can.
