If Rolston's Contract Wasn't on the Books

Hypothetical, if Rolston's contract some how came off the books (we traded for draft picks/minor leaguers, whatever), and let's assume Parise's contract has been taken care of and this won't really affect it in the near future. Would you rather use that salary to get a top pairing defenseman or a top line player?

I think our best bet for removing Rolson's contract is by taking one in return.. something like Rolston and a third to the Ducks for Blake and a fourth.. cuz I don't see anyone taking him for picks or prospects
