When you do that, you need to buy about 20 of them, then bring them home and throw them in the freezer.

Runzas reheat well and taste just the same.

If you call ahead, you can buy them frozen uncooked, I thought I read on their website awhile back

Frozen Runza® Sandwiches can be purchased at any Runza® location. We recommend calling the location at least 24 hours in advance to place your order.

However, still not very convenient for me

Alright guys... you all know I like to eat.... and because of some of my connections :gossip: here are a couple of recipes from here in Lincoln you can use on your own.

Runza:

2 small heads of cabbage or 1 large cabbage
1 whole yellow onion
3-4 lbs hamburger
2 tsp of accent salt
Pepper to your own liking... approx 2 tsp or more if you like

Rhodes rolls; Bag of the frozen type. (2) rolls per runza.

chop fine (Cabbage& Onion)

Brown hamburger adding salt, pepper

Stir in the onion and cabbage and mix well. Let cool to almost room temp in a bowl.

After letting Rhodes rolls to thaw, take two at a time and slap together in the shape of a (small football), then roll out flat and thin. Place your mix in the middle and then fold dough over top and pinch/close the ends.

Grease a cookie sheet lightly then place runzas on the sheet as you make them. Bake until they are golden brown...

You are done. Eat and enjoy...

Tastie's

1 tsp accent salt
3 lbs of hamburger
1/2 cup of water
1/4 cup of ketchup
3 heaping tsp of mustard
3 heaping tsp of cream style horseradish
2 level tsp of worshire sauce
2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp of black pepper
1 yellow onion

Boil hamburger with chopped up onion and add 1/2 cup of water and accent salt. Mix remaining ingredients in a 1 cup measuring cup. If remaining ingrediants don't fill up the measuring cup add more ketchup till cup is full.

Pour the mixture in with the hamburger then cook or simmer as desired.

Either...

Crock pot 2-3 hrs or over stove top in pan for 1 hour on low or simmer.

Place above on bun and eat... I like to put mustard and dill pikles on mine... Yum!!!

Enjoy
