I'd say the chances of getting a Veteran is pretty likely even if they are only a backup and we go QB in the draft, but if we go all out for a starter who do you see it being?

We had interest in Tyrod Taylor last year, and given his ability to protect the ball I think that becomes a highly valuable trait. We could do a lot worse then giving Taylor a shot.

I'm hoping for Cousins...but I think it depends entirely if he becomes a free agent (not tagged again). I don't see us giving a massive contract and draft picks.

Gruden threw shade at Cousins today. "He did some good stuff but was not able to get us over the hump"

SO if Cousins signs a new contract say 5 years $100 MM with $45 MM guaranteed (for a example)
He would have $24 + $20 + $45 MM in the bank .

That is $95MM in 3 years. Crazy

I worry about the price to get Cousins and also believe that the Redskins aren't going to let him go. Could be wrong about that 2nd part though.

Good to see you on the board again Miked! You've been gone a long time.

I agree with Cousins, as long as we don't have to trade for him. I like Alex Smith and Eli Manning, as well as Tyrod. I think there will be quite a few bigger name QBs available in FA, which is quite a difference from most years.

My long shot is Luck, Elway wanted him .. But i picked Manning ..

He is so going to want to be here he knows we will go all out . He also knows his family wants to buy the Broncos .

Cousins . Wonder if Elway is thinking only 2-3 years then he's out of here and will want to go out on top. Think a drafted QB gets him there.

The only way Elway goes anywhere is if the next three years look like last two.

Cousins....but it will be very expensive.

I am kinda on the fence on this one.

Alex Smith and Taylor seem to be similar players.

Edit: Smith put up some stellar numbers this year. Wow.

Thanks man, I read on occasion just haven’t posted until lately.

I’m sure Cousins will be costly, my guess is $28 mil/yr, I can’t see the Redakins tagging him at $34 mil so I think it’s a possibility IF we are willing to pay. But if we do that I could see is going Nelson in round 1 and Okorafor in round 2. Immediate upgrade to our 3 biggest weaknesses.

Doesn’t seem too smart on Gruden’s part if he wants Cousins back. Cousins scrubbed any reference to the Redskins from his Twitter, kinda sounds like they are headed in different directions.

I'm not sure how much I would read into that. Remember before Von Miller was signed that he posted that picture where he cropped John Elway out of it? Both sides at this point work to get some leverage in negotiations.

Want? Cousins. But rumor is that Skins will transition tag him this year, so they could match any offer. They wont franchise tag him, thatd cost them 32 million or thereabouts.

I think we settle for Alex, and draft our future qb.

Mike Sullivan is rumored to be interviewing with the Broncos for the QB's coach position. So, here's a possible string of events this opens up:

Sullivan interviews and Denver likes him enough to offer him the position. Sullivan accepts. Sullivan then convinces brother Eli to finish his career with the Broncos. Eli accepts, and Denver starts Eli for the next few seasons while Kelly Jr. develops. Denver then concentrates more on building O-line and running game for the remainder of the offseason.
