Plain and simply put, if the Heisman was voted on after the bowls were played out (as it should be), Tommie Frazier would have won the Heisman.

There is absolutely no doubt about that.

I certainly wouldn't argue with you on this one, but like I said, if LP didn't do what he did best and that was beat women, he would have won the Heisman in 1995 the way things were set up.

Yeah, I'll never understand why the Heisman trophy couldn't be awarded after all of the season's games were finished.

Another reason why I'm so adamant about my opinion on the LP case is because countless times especially for a few years after 1995 when I happened to be wearing a Husker shirt and some asshole fan of another team would approach me and instead of saying something nice, I would hear how could I support thug U or some other stupid comment.

Even last year I had someone in my pool league bring up LP, and a total stranger out at some department store make a snide remark about LP and my team while I was wearing a Husker shirt. I pretty much told all of those assholes that if I had had my way LP would have been immediately ousted, but since I had no say in the matter, you better call Tom Osborne up and cry to him about it.

I'm not going to have this conversation with someone who clearly does not understand the situation, or Osborne's thinking behind his decision.

I bet you would have loved to have assholes who were total strangers to you come up and put down the whole Nebraska program because of LP and how Osborne handled that situation, while you were out in public somewhere minding your own business and wearing a Husker shirt in support of our team.

Tom Osborne didn't need Lawrence Phillips to win that game against Florida.

He was well aware of that. But Tom Osborne has a different way of thinking than 99.9% of human-beings on this Earth. He was willing to throw his own image under the bus in order to help out Lawrence Phillips. He allowed Phillips to play in that game for the sole purpose of hopefully helping Phillips moving forward with his life.

Even after Phillips left Nebraska early, Tom Osborne frequently stayed in contact with Phillips. Unfortunately, Lawrence Phillips has a personality disorder from hell and it turns out he needed more help than Tom Osborne was able to provide.

People can say whatever the hell they want about Tom Osborne. He stuck to what he believed, and he didn't give one shit what anyone thought. He cares about the well-being of people, not about what people think.

I would feel exactly the same as I feel talking to you...I would know they had no idea what the fuck they were talking about.

Let me just say, this is one of the things I really do like about Bo Pelini. He doesn't budge for what other people think or want.

He sticks to what he believes. Can't fault a man for that.

He still writes to LP at least as of when he left as AD.

That's all well and good for him to not care about his own image, but unfortunately his decision with LP threw the image of the whole program under the bus.
