Just asking, in all these years, has Kareem mentored anyone who has improved/developed like Whiteside has in 1 season?
To tell the truth I have 't had time to watch much of Whiteside this year. But honest question: he came in with such a bang when the Heat signed him has he improved much or just maintained his initial impressive abilities with the Heat?

Bynum's post game developed under Kareem's tutelage. Unfortunately his brain and glass knees didn't. Kareem hasn't had any real opportunities otherwise.

He's tons better, and probably from a
combined combination of reasons.

This was never about me knocking Kareem or comparing him to anyone.
I only pointed out that Zo/Juwan has def rubbed off on Whiteside.

I didn't think you were. I was just providing an example for which you asked.

Wiki said he coached Olowonakandi (spelling ... but you know who I mean).

Before the all-star break... it was unclear. You probably would've gotten a variety of answers and a debate.

Now... there's no question he's improved. He's had a fantastic month or so.

Just asking, in all these years, has Kareem mentored anyone who has improved/developed like Whiteside has in 1 season?

A question was asked.

Not at the rate that Whiteside has, but there was dramatic improvement in Bynum after Kareem started working with him. In fact, if memory serves, Kareem was working with Bynum the summer that Kobe demanded a trade and clowned him. Then, when the season started and Kobe saw the improvement he was like "Imma shut up now."

Some of Whiteside improving so fast is no doubt because of 'Zo and Juwan, but a lot of it is that Whiteside is just that talented.

Bynum's post game developed under Kareem's tutelage. Unfortunately his brain and glass knees didn't. Kareem hasn't had any real opportunities otherwise.

It was answered.

This was never about me knocking Kareem or comparing him to anyone.

Who took offense?

@trojanfan12 seemed @logic took offense at first.

Not sure how? He just said that he hasn't really watched him and asked if the improvement was that dramatic or just a continuation of the splash he made that started last year.

I actually almost answered myself, saying that the improvement really is that dramatic because of what he's added offensively while maintaining/improving what he was already doing with his defense and rebounding, but decided to leave that to Heat fans.

Wasn't talking about that post. He made a comment 2 days ago comparing Mourning/Howard to Wilt which I thought was unnecessary

Well, it Kareem not Wilt. And, yes it was over the top hyperbole and inappropriate. The Heat guys are doing a great job with Whiteside's development. My Heat hatred and the Kareem worship from my youth just took over. Sorry.
