This was never in doubt as the season rolled on but man what a great player. Starting his MLB career at the young old age of 27. Now 42 and 3,000 hits. Great Job

Lots of negative feelings on him as a player, but he deserves a ton of credit and that is an achievement, that IMO is better than Rose. In a way wish they'd kept him so at least his chase would've been entertaining when the team has struggled.

Ichiro is awesome.... I just wish M's ownership would a put a line-up around him back in the early 2000's ... They sold us out .. Good for Ichiro though...

I am happy for him. And to think he didn't debut until age 27!!!! Oldest debut of any hitter with 3000+ hits. Those are 5 or 6 prime years he didn't get.

He was fun to watch, but wish management would have made him more team oriented. But after watching get his hit, I wish it would have been in a Mariners uni.

I know a lot of fans didnt have the best things to say about him some would say that he was somewhat of a diva. But I applaud him for what he has done for us we have been a completely irrelevant team for over a decade now he was the only player not named felix hernandez that brought anything to the ball club. He made highlight real plays in the outfield, gold gloves, all star games, broke the single season hit record. only the mariners can fail to build a winning team with one of the best hitters in the history of baseball in their lineup. congrats to him

Freshman year in high school we had to write a paper about 'our hero' and Dave is who I wrote about. Wrote that he saved baseball in Seattle. Back then I wanted to be a sports broadcaster, so to me he embodied everything I wanted to be someday.

Then I just decided to become an evil lawyer instead.
