Always that risk with big money, long term contracts. However, Harper and Machado at age 26 now, would only be 35 at the end of a ten year contracts, if they even get contracts that long. They are arguably two of the best young players in the game and have the talent to be consistent into their 30s. But I really don't know shit, so good luck to the teams interested.

Machado did have two or three knee surgeries by age 22. Maybe that has something to do with it.

You know I love me some Didi. If (massive If) Tulo can carry them into June before he inevitably breaks down, then I completely understand not locking into a 10 year deal with an extremely talented but questionable character like Machado.

But if Tulo looks like crap in Tampa next month, and Tyler f#cking Wade is the everyday SS, then I reserve the right to completely change my opinion.
