My green card is good otherwise they would have deported my ass long ago. But the rules and ICE are way stricter now, they won't tolerate Riff raff. 2 good friends of mine that were brothers but always in and out of jail were incarcerated for 22 mos longer than they should have because USA wanted to deport them, and their country wouldn't accept them, saying they were here over 20 years, They finally loaded them up on a a plane and dropped them off in their European country lol. I heard 1 brother might be back in States. God bless your parents to come over. My parents were both 39 and came over on the boat with 6 kids, Couldn't speak the language, so each took 2 factory jobs to make ends meet. Talking about 16 hrs a day plus travel time and 6 kids to feed, real old fashioned tough people. When people ask who my hero is, easily say it's my mom. My dad at least had 2 sisters here in Providence, and my mom had no family here, except us. Plus the shit the saw as teeenagers during WW@ was brutal, can't imagine
My folks were born in Romania of German descent. When Nazi over ran Romania they drafted anyone of German descent into the army. My dad faked epilepsy to get out of it. Him and my mom got transplanted to Poland just in time for the Russians to over run Poland. Folks that got translated left with the coat on their back and headed to Germany. Parents that were starving begged folks to take their kids, my mom can't even comment on it without crying. Once in Germany they applied for visas for the US of A, most of their siblings stayed in Germany and that's only the start of a very strange life of my parents. So glad they came to this great country.
