Big Red in the Big Ten!
I was broken in on Coors, but as we have gotten older we are into Coors Light. I even was in on a lot of taste testing back in the day when Coors was bringing out Herman Joseph and Killian's. Some of those that we tasted we utter garbage.
We used to go on the Coors Brewery tours every week, sometimes three times in a week. They have a Short Tour where you go right to the beer. But every once in awhile, we would go on the long tours and answer all of the questions. Now, the tours are all recorded and we cannot interact with the human tour guides because they are all gone.
The favorite one we always asked on the bus in, as we were driving by the cooling ponds,
"What are those ponds used for? We would say that is where they raise the frogs for the Hops." The driver would then turn around and say, "You guys are from Mines, aren't you?"
Our saying,
"Coors, the beer to drink if you are drinking twelve or more."
Now, I prefer a good german beer or a Samuel Adams. But I mostly drink red wine and the wife is the one that has the occasional beer.
We would drink the bullet on the Colorado down in Arizona. Our saying was Coors light. For when you run out of water...
