Iowa is an average team every year.

Last Year Iowa won all of their close games and managed to get 12 wins. Last year and 2009 are the only years in the last 12 that Iowa had double digit wins.
So? Who was talking about Iowa? Iowa has 5 top 10 finishes this century. That more than every team in the SEC save 3. But once again no one was talking about Iowa. We were talking about how crappy the SEC is this year

Just pointing out the hypocrisy of a fan from the Big Ten Worst talking crap about the any other P5 conference. Take Wisconsin out of that division and its the MAC.

Yes, the SEC isn't living up to its usually high standards and is down this year. Hope the SEC being down makes you fell better. It would be better if you could get some satisfaction out of your team doing better, but that might be asking too much.

The B10W won the head to head vs the B10E this year and the divisions are exactly. 500 vs each other since they went to East vs West. I fail to see how that is anywhere close to the level of ineptitude as the SEC Rast. Next time research hour comments before jabbering

The best team from the B1G west would finish 4th in the east. Wisconsin lost to OSU, Michigan, & PSU this year. The Hawkeyes got an upset win vs. UM. Other than that the best wins for the west come against Indiana and Maryland. That's real impressive.

So the best teams in leagues win most of their games vs teams worse than them?? Wow. In depth analysis.

Actually, what the Big 12 really needs is a Pac-12 North. That segment finished last among all the Power-5 conference divisions vs. non-conference competition with a 12-6 record for a .666 winning percentage. That still topped the B-12, which was 19-11 & .633. The SEC East was actually 5th among conference divisions with a 20-7 .740 record. SEC West - mostly thanks to Alabama - topped them all at 22-5 .814, followed by the Big 10 East at 17-4 .809, the ACC Atlantic at 22-6 .785, and the Pac-12 South at 14-4 .777.

The ACC Coastal & Big 10 West tied for 7th with .714 winning percentages. The A-Coastal was 20-8 while the B-West was 15-6. If you take total conference records into consideration the Big 12 was still on the bottom with their 19-11 .633 mark. From the top down, it was SEC 42-12 .777, Big 10 32-10 .761, ACC 42-14 .750 & Pac-12 26-10 .722.

Among the G-5 leagues, the best divisional performance was by the AAC West, which went 17-6 (.739) with one non-conference game yet to be played (Army/Navy). The next 3 divisions - and the ones most similar to the Big-12 in nonconference performance - were the MAC West & MWC-Mountain at 16-8 .666 and the AAC East at 14-10 .583. Further down were: CUSA West 10-14 .416, SBC 18-26 .409, MWC West 10-15 .400, CUSA East 10-18 .357 & MAC East 7-17 .291.

The overall Group of 5 rankings were as follows: AAC 31-16 .659, MWC 26-23 .530, MAC 23-25 .479, SBC 18-26 .409 & CUSA 20-32 .384.
