Funny how things can change drastically in a matter of a few hours. The morning of the Michigan game it was quite apparent that Doc would get a chance to work with Strickland and recruit to the new facilities and arena..........but even after the Ohio State losses, the loss to Wake Forest, the losses to Michigan State and Wisconsin at home...........the game against Michigan was one of the worst that Sadler has ever had.
I didn't say anything right after the game, because I was still too deflated from it, but our team did not care one bit that they were playing the #22 team in the country the other night at their home court. It was a team who had given up completely...........they have given up on Doc.
Not many coaches make it another season after their team has blatantly given up and laid over at home in a big game. I now give Doc a 30% chance of making it to next year. Many of us Nebrasketball followers thought we would have given Michigan a run for their money.........but instead we were completely blown out............trailed by 26 at one point.
Doc will likely be shown the door, but I still don't think Strickland will be hired. Even after the Erstad hiring, a Strickland hire would be a complete shock hire. Either way, whoever is coaching the team next year, I will still be the biggest Husker basketball fan in the world en sech
