This will be a little controversial to say -but Josh McDaniels crashed the Broncos just in time for the Broncos to benefit immensely from the labor agreement and rookie wage scale. Expensive rookies were now affordable and the Broncos were able to go get expensive Free Agents because they didn't have to pay it to the rookies. So the Broncos were awful and empty of salary cap burdens - at just the perfect time in NFL history. They didn't blow the chance.

It is a different salary cap game for these Broncos now. Either way you need a sharp sense for talent, coaches willing to let the talent play and the ability to develop guys into productive players.

I think he was some spy sent by Bill Belichick to destroy the Broncos from the inside. Unfortunately for New England, he wasn't given a powerful enough position to do serious damage. Word has it, this "Josh" guy was the one responsible for taking Tebow.

Apparently, when John Elway found out about the Patriot plot, he personally rode into the Broncos front office on a white horse, grabbed this Josh kid by the color, and threw him out on his keister.

Well the nice thing is that because of how terrible that situation was it did get us John Elway so sounds like BB's plan backfired just a bit.

McDaniels doesn't have the power he had in Denver. Here with the Broncos, he was an a-hole. There really isn't much more to the story.

Unfortunately McDaniels came to the Broncos when Mr. Pat Bowlen was doing terrible health wise and wasn't making the most sound decisions. He pretty much allowed a 1st time coach to have the exact same power that Shanahan had when he left Denver of having complete control.
