He better not be out for too long, because I don't think this rotation can be effective with only four pitchers for much longer than three weeks.

I would say it's the "norm" for the first two weeks of the season. And given the varying reports for Hamels' return, it is worrisome that our next best option is Jeff Manship, especially when the rotation already has Hernandez and Kendrick in it.
None of this would matter if Dave $$$Montgomery would have ponied up for Tanaka. What would that have cost him, 7, maybe $8 Million a year?
