He could have gone many ways I agree... There have been discussions on more Black every position... Yet there is not much progress... His frustration with the lack of that diversity is more on display than anything IMO, which leads to the thought if we owned our own this wouldn't happen... But I think it's safe to say no league start up will overtake the NBA at this point and if he's saying exclusion of any kind including ownership he's wrong and should be called on it... To my knowledge he hasn't said exclusion...

As for higher positions such as GM's and ownership, there has obviously been far less. However, it takes considerably longer because those opportunities don't open up nearly as often as coaching jobs.

I agree that he hasn't said exclusion, but he hasn't not said it either. I would think that it has gotten back to him that there is some confusion re: what he said, yet no clarification.

No, but the fact that he said "own league" seems to lean towards my view. Additionally, it seems to me that if he didn't mean a separate "black only" league, he would want to clear that up asap. Heck, if all he had said was "own teams", I think the vast majority of people would view that as NBA ownership. It's the "own league" part of the quote that is potentially problematic.

Also, mont wasn't simply believing the best case scenario. He was basically calling anyone who didn't agree with his view of it, racists.
