Ya need to do it for your family pops. It'll kill ya. I am damn lucky to be here posting right now. I had a heart attack in May and it is directly because of my smoking and eating habits.

May 10th I went into the hospital and I haven't smoked since then. Cut out the salt and fried foods too, lost 40 pounds. I want to be around a little longer. Shit gets real pops. Give up them smokes.

Just keep at it. It's worth it. I know it's easier said than done. I quit more time than I can remember.
They said that smokin's like glue in your veins though. It clogs them worse then cholesterol. And that was what happened to me. 3 arteries, one main one completely blocked.

Good Monday morning. Wished I had a day to sleep. Weekend of camping and swimming in the river.

Good Monday morning. Wished I had a day to sleep. Weekend of camping and swimming in the river.

What river? My in-laws had a place on the Elkhorn we used to fish and swim.

Used to swim the Platte too. Got caught in the current in it once below Highway 50 and thought they'd be snagging my body in Plattsmouth.

We were out there grilling and drinking. I decided to swim upstream to another sandbar. Looked up and I was about 100 yards further downstream then where I started and I was in the channel. Tried to swim to the side but the current wouldn't let me.

Flipped on my back though and floated. Went around a bend in the river and the current floated me out of the channel and into shallow water without me even knowing it. Just when I thought I was done for I put my foot down and I was in about 3 feet of water.

I seriously saw all the people in my life and how I wouldn't see them again.. Guess that's what they mean by your life flashes before your eyes.

Two Rivers state park. In the Platte. It so crazy the water level from day to day. And a different of 5 to 10 feet how much it drops.

Try one of these next time. Its still considered a life jacket, but lets them practice swimming motions a little more easily. My Daughter swims like a fish now and my Son is on his way.

I saw those this weekend. She swim well in the pool. Just worried with the current and flow of the river.
