I got me a quandary. My daughter has decided to give college volleyball another shot as she got homesick as a freshman and she wasted last year at UNO taking classes that supposedly weren't transferable but later were. Anyway, she will be playing on Saturdays which means many road trips. Now my wife and especially my daughter expect me to be at all her road games ~ Fuq! Should I risk my marriage and daughters love by staying home for the Huskers, or should I do the dad thing and TiVo the games? :noidea:

Oh BTW I have been married to the same gal for 30 years...
Do the right thing and DVR the games. She'll be eligible for what, 3 more years? You'll never get those 3 years back of watching your Daughter.

I was just thinkin' about this... If you are a grown man or woman and you show up to fan day asking for autographs, and you don't have any kids with you, that's just creepy.

I would equate it to visiting disney world as a grown up without any kids. I'm sure they're nice people, but very creepy.

And then there's the shameless people who get the autographs and then you see 'em up on eBay the following day. That's even more pathetic.

I mean I get it if you want a "Team Signed Ball" for your collection.. But at least save yourself the indignity and let some other shameless person do the dirty work and buy it from them.

I disagree. If you have a pretty impressive collection, especially of a certain team, I see nothing wrong with wanting to add to your memorobelia. Especially getting it done in person.

To me, buying an autograph online or in a store just isn't the same as getting that autograph yourself

:pout:

I went on a cruise and got autographs

:bolt:

LOL that's different. You're in a social setting and those are all ex players who are much older and some are probably your peers. You're not hassling a college kid.

Point taken. I know plenty of people who do that, I guess it's just more the people who are just going there to make a buck. I'm not saying it's morally wrong, it's just lame as hell.

If I got an autographed team ball for free I would never sell it.

Yeah and they actually signed up to be around you... They expect you to ask them for autographs, and most of 'em probably enjoy doing it. Especially the ones who don't play anymore.

I don't understand going to all the road games. This is college, your daughter shouldn't need your support at every stinkin game. Tell her you'll come to all the home ones and the road ones if they aren't too far. This isn't HS, you don't need to attend everything.

I do love girls in shorts though. about the only reason i ever went to college volleyball game when i was in school.

Haha CT, but did you put it up on eBay the next day? Nope.

I think that's really the only thing I take issue with.
