So if you agree then how is PE wrong as you have been arguing?
Simple, he thinks 4+1 equals 4. I said all along all the agent negotiates and gets paid for is the 4 years but the CBA mandates a automatic non-negotiable 5th year is included.

Geez, the 1st round contract issue again? They do not sign a 5 year contract after being drafted. They sign a 4 year contract that includes an option to extend it and at some future date add a 5th year. But, the player is under team control for 5 years. The two discussions are different. Call it semantics and bury it?

We are just getting started here. Wait until Hurts throws a few good passes in August and the Philly media gets hold of it.

No one disputes the agent as only negotiating 4 years, but per the Bylaws of the CBA the 5th year MUST be included therefore making it a five year contract.

but it doesn’t make it a 5 year contract. It’s a 4 year with an option and I already got an elite agent to tell you that

But it’s not 4+1... it’s 4 and we don’t know if the one will ever be exercised so it’s just 4 until we know

AUTOMATICALLY INCLUDED IN per CBA.

I ALREADY GOT AN AGENT TO VERIFY and SteelersPride verified the email addy.
Answer me this. If everyone at your job signs for 4 years and the company has the option to give you a new car did you get a car?

I did tell them it was semantics and that it’s fine to call it a 5 year deal but it’s technically a 4 year contract. You are right. Why run around doing the same argument we’ve been having for years. Plus I said on my daughters life AND got SteelersPride to verify the email for a top agent explaining it to them but even that’s not good enough for @Manster7588
The funny part is if I said it was 5 years from the beginning Schmoopy and Handi would go the 4 year route just to argue

But...but...but...he was only drafted to be a gadget guy...

Don’t get this one. You said they didn’t draft Hurts to replace Wentz, most Eagle fans on the hoop hate the pick and now you are sounding like you’re mocking the fans... or did I miss your point?

They did not draft Hurts to replace a healthy Wentz
They did not draft Hurts to be just a gadget guy
I am mocking the fans

Oooh. They got him for a few reasons.
1. To be a gadget guy like Taysom Hill
2. Our QB gets hurt a shit ton and needs a good backup
3. Because they want to be a QB “factory”

Now I’m not saying I agree, but that seems to be the strategy even if I think it’s misguided.

Your order is off. They got him to be the backup QB because of Wentz's injury history and the fact that he can't be trusted to stay healthy. They may or may not envision him as their future starter in a couple/few years. In the meantime they will get him onto the field and use his skill set to run gadget plays which he should be good at, but that is not why he was drafted in the 2nd round. The QB factory thing is a bunch of hooey. :2cents:

To replace Wentz when he gets injured.
In the meantime they might use him for other things, but they got him for one reason!
