How long does Carolina stick with Young before going back to Dalton?

Only way Dalton starts is if Young gets hurt. I don’t think Young will be a bust, I think he’ll be a good franchise QB.

He looked pretty bad in their first pre-season game against the Jets. Gonna need to see some dramatic improvement from him in the next several weeks or we may be looking at Justin Fields 2.0

I wouldn’t call Fields a bust yet - he had the worst receiving unit in the NFL last season. His passing numbers should be much improved this season. And I don’t give a fuck about how someone looked in a preseason game, the preseason means less than nothing, it doesn’t matter if you win or lose and players are more concerned about not getting hurt than about winning. The preseason proves nothing.

Nah, I totally get it about pre-season games, the best guys aren't playing, it's just about reps, etc., but he just didn't LOOK good. Passes way off target, slow reaction times, poor decision-making. I'm hoping it was just nerves

He’s probably the smallest QB in the league. Young could be good, but I see him struggling a lot until Carolina’s oline is ready.

Bryce Young is 4 inches tall... and his number 1 wideout is Thielen, and the OT they drafted last year can't save that midget and was the worst of the lot.. Add all of that together and his number 1 RB at this point is a guy named CHUBBA HUBBA or something like that. This has bust written all over it.

Going to try the old "throw em' to the wolves" method of getting the kid introduced to the nfl, which seldom works. It got Joe Burrows hurt in Cincy and taking a record number of sacks, and Justin Fields is still floundering around in Chicago. Draft your future Qb and let them sit one to two years and ease them in like they did in the old days. I guess rookie contracts are such that you have to speed up the development process so you can cut ties asap if needed and start the cycle over asap.
Shout out to Brenda and Jan for all the kind words over on Tic toc !!

Simple Daltonomics would be that you start Dalton for one to two years and let Young learn the ins and outs of Daltonomics style football and easily transition into the league. But it isn't happing, clowns over in Carolina have already broken the script. They'll throw Young out there, week 4 or 5 you put Dalton in there, breaking Young's confidence and once Dalton makes it look easy, throw Young back out there.

Probably around the first time Young really gets hit and breaks into 3 pieces because he's the size of a leprechaun

Even if Young is a bust. No way he gets parked this season.
Once he starts a game. He will start all of them until injury.

The Panthers arent gonna let him struggle & go through growing pains until the season is lost. Then bench him for the back up. Not a chance.
He will start every game he isnt injured this year.

Although I did laugh at the title of thread when I read it. Well played. :heh:

Personally, hope the kid has a typical bad rookie year, but then a much better time going forward into the future. The Bears team I root for could use another #1 pick. >grins<
