Assuming you don't plan on doing some crazy wildcat formation or kneel on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd downs who would you want as QB? I see a lot of people bitching about every option we have. Who is your QB?

This right here. There is no great answer at QB available at this point in the season and with us picking last every round in the draft. Now there are some guys that maybe could be good for us like Kaepernick as he has been a top-10 QB before in this league. Maybe we bring in Fitzpatrick and he produces a lot like he did last year. Maybe we trade for Tyrod Taylor and he builds off his good season last year. Maybe a draft pick comes in and surprises the world like Russell Wilson a few years back. All of those options though are being optimistic and hoping for the best when the reality is probably not quite at that level. We as Bronco fans might just have to be ok with a top-gap QB for a year or two. We might have to be ok with settling for average QB play and hoping our defense can continue to thrive. This is where we got ruined by having Peyton Manning playing at an MVP level for pretty much 3 straight seasons before this last year collapse. We have come to expect such play from our QB but unless we get really really lucky going to be a bit before we find that guy again.

Yeah Bok, pretty much what Cd says ^. Not excited or feel any of the current options at Qb are going to be the answer now, or in future unless like Cd said, we get lucky with a draft pick that becomes a "Russell Wilson ". Imo anyway, sometime in the next few years Denver is going to have to pick somewhere near the top of the draft whether it be because of W-L record or trade to find their QB of the future if one even emerges from the next few QB draft classes. He ( Cd ) is probably spot on when he said Denver might just have to rely on keeping a stout D together, strong run game and have to go with a Sanchez/Hoyer type Qb for a few years. Or longer. I hope Elway finds one but it doesn`t look too promising at least at this moment.

If we can get "Jake Plummer" type of production from Sanchez or Siemian, or whomever we draft, that will be just fine with me.

After the draft we will move on the QB's if we don't trade or pick one I see no need for hurry what so ever ..

Heck if the bills draft lynch then we trade them if the 49'ers draft Lynch we trade them ..

I honestly would be surprised if the Bills traded Taylor though. Lynch needs at least a year to learn how to play in the NFL so they will still need a guy who can carry the team this upcoming year. Taylor is a nice cheap option and if he has another good year good chance he gets a very nice contract netting the Bills a 3rd round Comp Pick. So I can't see them trading Taylor for anything less than a 3rd round pick. Are you willing to give up a 2nd or higher for a guy with as limited experience as Taylor who you know you might only have for a single season?

Let's be realisitc here... Sanchez and Hoyer are both stop gap QB's. For the right price letting them compete if that is the best we can do makes sense. I don''t think it excited anyone, but. We can'''t throw Trevor Simien out there.

Yes, I'd give up #31 this year for Taylor.

Wow! I would probably be ok with our 2nd round pick knowing that Kubiak knows this kid probably better than most anybody else in this league. My biggest concern honestly would not be his play on the field. It would be next off season having to get him signed long-term if we deem him the guy for our future. I fear the idea that we would use a 2nd round pick and then only have the guy for 1 season.

CD, my rationale is that Tyrod is the only player I can think of if we add to this team we suddenly become serious SB contenders. I don't think you get that kind of reaction adding Kap, Hoyer, Bradford or a draft pick. But add Taylor and suddenly we are back in the picture.

But I don't think it's remotely possible from the Bills standpoint. Now if they draft Lynch suddenly there would be some talk that it might be possible. Otherwise he is their QB for the coming year.

I guess I do think Kaepernick if he returns to his old form can be that QB as well. I mean he did go to 2 NFC Championship games, won 1 of those, and barely lost in the Super Bowl and in the NFC Championship game they lost. So the talent is there and he would have a very similar environment in Denver as what he had on those championship caliber teams. I think he is going to cost a lot less as well as I am hearing the Broncos are only going to give up a 5th round pick this year and a conditional pick next year to get him.

Geo is a Bills homer. Don't forget that. :)

No way Id give a #1 for Taylor without a new contract,,, I am not sold on him just yet either. I don't forsee the Bills moving him, but they have brought in a lot of high QB prospects for visits including Cook, Prescott and Brissett.

If we gave up #31 for Tyrod Taylor, I would have to fling open the front door, bend at the waist, and hope that the projectile diarrhea clears the front porch and lands harmlessly on the lawn

I think it's revealing the Broncos let Hoyer leave town without a contract. Remember when they signed Sanchez and everyone called it a "desperation move?" I think it's pretty clear now it was not a desperation move. The Broncos have had ample opportunity to sing another QB since then and haven't seemed to try all that hard to actually make it happen. They've explored options, (Kap, Hoyer, reportedly Bradford) and haven't yet moved on any of them. That is not a desperate team. The opposite: That's a team that feels it is in a good position.

They will most certainly add a QB in the draft, and there is still a chance they trade for Kap or bring Hoyer back after the draft to add a veteran #2. I also wondered if Brandon Weeden may be available to come in for a #2 spot. Hoyer may sign with the Patriots given Brady's suspension. They'll need an additional QB at least for the 1st part of the season. Anyone who signs there better be careful: they may be unemployed when Brady returns.

Elway hasn't flinched through this whole process. We've neither overpaid or over committed to a QB because there is nobody available who warrants such treatment. And this is all consistent with contending "from now on." You don't contend every year if you put yourself in salary cap hell and can't afford to resign your own talent or bolster with the right free agents. We can't judge the off season until the season actually plays through, but I think this will go down as a very masterful off season by Elway and the Broncos.

My thought is all of these visits with FA's while beneficial in the sense of getting to know the player and maybe adding another after the draft I do think it is more of a smoke screen trying to take attention away from the fact that the Broncos really like one of these QB's in this draft and plan on being aggressive to get them. I will not be surprised one bit that we see the Broncos if Lynch gets past the Jets jump up and take the kid. We have plenty of draft picks and probably no QB fits the Broncos better in this draft.

Just check out some of these stats...He had the highest completion percentage of all College QB's this past year when under pressure. 70% That is down right impressive compared to Wentz playing in an even lower level of play only completed 55% of his passes.

Lynch also had the highest success rate of any QB on designed roll outs. He also was 2nd in this draft class on deep throw completion percentage only behind Connor Cook. So all those things add up to being just the type of QB Elway and Kubiak would love to have for this system.

CD, do you view Lynch as a year 1 starter? My guess is he would at least be able to compete for the role.

I honestly don't. Way too much for him to learn in a few months to be ready. Maybe 8 or so games in they decide to give him a chance. My guess is if the Broncos do this then they also go sign Hoyer to a $3-4 million a year contract. Get this kid surrounded by some veterans that have been back ups before and have no problem working with a rookie instead of viewing them as the guy to take their job. Let Hoyer and Sanchez compete to start out the season and honestly whichever one doesn't win the job gets cut. So we still would only have about $4 million invested in one of those 2 QB's. Then have Lynch the back up and Sieiman fighting for that 3rd spot.
Now if need be I think he could start and do ok. They would have the greatly simplify the offense and we would be playing a lot more out of shot gun as he has hardly taken any snaps from under Center in college. We would also have to limit him to 1-2 reads on a given play and then tell him throw it away or take off running.
