How did they pick Notre Dame and Oklahoma over OSU?

I thought the committee's charge was to select the four "best" teams instead of the four "most deserving" teams. Am I wrong?

It's very simple Deep Creek. Here's the formula:

Is Bama one of the four most deserving teams?
If yes, their job is to pick the four most deserving teams.
If no, their job is to use the "eye test" and pick the four best teams.

Not it wasn't. Georgia lost 3 games in 2014 and played in the Belk Bowl. there was never talk of us being a top 3 team or better than OSU.

Not Georgia but there was a lot of people(ESPN "experts") saying OSU didn't belong in the playoffs and would get waxed by Alabama.

I understand, but I thought that is why we went to the playoff system? They are suppose to pick the best 4 teams. No politics. To be honest, I never thought that would happen, but they need to be called out on it.

It's kind of tough to keep politics out of it when Notre Dame is independent yet it's extremely important to win your conference championship if you're in a conference. Trying to not let subjective opinions make a difference when the criteria is different for some teams gets tough. Everything was easier when Notre Dame sucked...

It is homerism to try and focus on Clemson winning only 1 of 4 playoffs or Bama winning only 2 of 5 and ignoring the actual records in the playoffs. And you showed your homerism by trying to slip in that Urban has won one of two he has been in because it is better to miss the playoffs than go and lose.

ND got in bc their resume deserved it. Went undefeated against a quality schedule. They lost to Clemson who just might win it all. Clemson would beat down all of your teams as well.

OU got in bc they went 12-1 against a quality schedule and won their conference. They are the only team in the country that scored more points on Bama’s defense and rolled almost 500 yds. Lost by 11pts. Would like to see what would happen if Saban only had a week to prepare for OU’s offense like the rest of the Big 12 teams. Bama probably going to win it all.

tOSU didn’t get in bc they were curbstomped, slaughtered and bukkakkeed on by sorry ass Purdue. Maryland then ran a filthy train on their defense and the Buckeyes needed a miracle to beat the Terps.

UGA didn’t get in bc they had 2 losses and didn’t win their conference. One of those losses was a 20 point beatdown by an overrated LSU squad that has no offense. No 2 loss team should never play for a NC; no 2 loss team that couldn’t win their conference should ever be considered for a playoff spot. Rewarding teams for losing is bullshit. That snowflake millennial bullshit has to stop.....
