How did they pick Notre Dame and Oklahoma over OSU?

It's not homerism to believe Ohio State is better than Notre Dame. But Kalopy got triggered by that.

It's blind homerism. Last time you were gifted a trip to the playoffs you got absolutely destroyed. If you would have been gifted a trip again this year the same would have happened.

And I'm not triggered in the least. Your little potshots are as meaningful as the ones from the coots in the Scar thread elsewhere on this page. Both are like a chihuahua's squeaky little bark. No threat to the much bigger dog on the block and just as annoying.

ND got in bc their resume deserved it

That's the argument. The said they put in Alabama even when they didn't win their conference because they were one of the 4 best teams not because they deserved it. There is no consistency to their decisions

Please tell me you aren’t arguing OSU should have been in the CFP over undefeated ND?

Georgia and Ohio State are both better than Notre Dame. Doesn't make either more deserving though. Hell, yall lose on a last second field goal to Purdue, yall probably get in over Oklahoma.
Which is it? BETTER or MORE DESERVING?

The playoff chairman said "The 4 very best teams in college football."

I disagree with the chairman.

When did the committee say Alabama was not deserving last year? I would like to read that.

The reason why Alabama is given benefit of the doubt is the same reason Ohio State is ranked higher than UCF who is undefeated. Ohio State is a known quantity; a high quality program who beats up on most schools every year. I'm not sure it's the fairest system but I would agree that OSU is better than UCF on paper based on recruiting, depth, and strength of schedule.

No...I have said all along that you should have to win your conference to be in the CFP.

ND played a schedule with USC, Florida State, Stanford, Michigan, Syracuse, etc. and goes 12-0 (were some of those teams in a down year, yes, but that isn’t their fault — if those teams are normal strength, they’d have the toughest schedule in the country)

And if say, NW had won this year with 5 losses. They should get in the CFP over undefeated ND? Come on.

Mo one said anything about Northwestern being in the CFP.

You just said if you have to win your CCG.
Here is the problem with that:
Northwestern with 5 losses played in the B1G CG
Pitt with 5 losses played in the ACC CG
Texas with 3 or 4 losses played in the Big 12 CG.

By saying win your conference and you are in the CFP — any of those teams could have won and you’d be saying they should get in over a 12-0 ND.

If they said win your conference CG — they’d have to eliminate divisions within conferences altogether and make each conference like the Big 12 where you play everyone and then the top two face each other again in the CCG.

I'm guessing those are pretty rare occurances, teams with 5 losses getting into CCGs. Btw, has any team, EVER, with more than 2 losses going into a CCG, ever won the Conf Title?

With only 4 teams in the CFP, no team with more than 2 losses should ever get in, maybe not even any teams with 2 losses, either.

But with 8 teams, the rare instances of team with 3 or more losses winning a Conf Title would probably just need to be tolerated?

To be honest they should probably eliminate about 60 or 70 teams from Division 1 all together. It makes no sense to have teams in a division who can go undefeated and never sniff a title like UCF has done. It eliminates the cream puff games and will sure up the strength of schedule for most.

Votes. It also helped that neither lost to Purdue.

And more recent Clemson is 1 of 3 in with the CFP NCs. You guys lose this one and we can officially call you the Buffalo Bills of college football.

You cann’t call us shit except “daddy”.

Try again when you manage to beat us or you actually make the CFP again. Hell you’re lucky OU made it so you didn’t get your ass embarrassed again.

Show me one year where the committee would have had to take a 4 lose team.

Yeah it definitely has — I am not sure of other conferences, but I believe Wisconsin had 5 or even 6 losses one year and won the B1G

5 or even 6 losses and won the B1G??? You realize 6 losses disqualifies lots of schools from even getting a bowl invite? That's pretty hard to believe, I'd like you to back that up.
