Sorry, I didn't get the updated Romeo spreadsheet on what was acceptable to say.

You're jumping the gun a bit, hoss. Let's just be happy we're in first place. Too much baseball left to play to tempt the baseball gods with statements like that.

Are you saying we shouldn't be planning the parade route just yet?

Seriously, don't engage that dumb fuck. He's a troll who got the ban hammer once before who has managed to sneak back in. It's just a matter of time till he slips up and gets booted again. At least if he starts shit in here I can take care of it.

When I look at the standings I can't help but grin. Think about how far back this team was in July / August.

Think about how everyone had us predicted to finish dead last, and that was before we lost Darvish and Holland. There's your "experts" for ya.

Since the All-Star break, the Rangers have really been tearing it up. It was dollar hot dog tonight and I had one hot dog for every Rangers home run.

They might need to discontinue dollar hot dog night. During the Yankee home game, they quit selling them at 7:00 ( first pitch) and tonight they had a 5 dog limit. They need to make a decision because half-assing it sounds pretty lame.

I remember going to the Rangers games as a kid in the old stadium on "quarter beer night". Last place Rangers and drunk ass fans make for quite the entertainment for a youngster.

Then there's the 10 cent beer night game in Cleveland against Texas that had to be called because there were so many drunks getting onto the field.

Give Keuchel credit for giving Rangers props. Also look at his home-road splits.

ARLINGTON -- Dallas Keuchel, Houston's All-Star left-hander, become excited when he saw the Rangers' lineup for Wednesday's game included four left-handed hitters.

"I don't normally face a lot of lefties," Keuchel said. "And then they're hitting everything out of the ballpark. That's a good lineup right now."

"They ambushed him," Astros manager A.J. Hinch said. "This team has really warmed up."

Keuchel, who entered with a league-low 2.22 ERA, gave up a career-high nine runs in 42/3 innings. He took the Astros out of the game early, allowing six runs in the first inning as the Rangers pounded a series of high fastballs.

"It's extremely disappointing, because I couldn't help the guys out like I normally do," Keuchel said. "I knew they were leaning on me to perform."

This continued a curious split to Keuchel's season. He is 13-0 with a 1.49 ERA at home, and the Astros are 14-2 in his starts. On the road, he is 4-8 with a 3.82 ERA, and the Astros are 6-8 in his starts. The Astros have lost eight of his last 10 road starts, including two on this disastrous trip. Houston is 2-7 on the trip with one game remaining.

Fielder wrapped up his 20-home run season in the third inning. It was a solo shot that raised the Rangers' lead to 7-0, but I wouldn't call it superfluous, given how the Astros bounced back Tuesday night. The game did appear beyond the visitors' grasp when Fielder delivered his next blow, this one more of a line drive into the upper deck that contained interesting overtones of its own.

It came off seldom-used reliever Michael Feliz, who spent most of this season with the Corpus Christi Hooks in Double-A. Feliz, a solid 21-year-old prospect, is the player the Astros chose to protect on their 40-man roster instead of outfielder Delino DeShields last winter.

The Rangers have thanked Houston for that move all season.

I know there is a lot of talk about Fielder's 2 HRs and rightfully so. But Napoli's HR set the tone and Odor just added to it. Of course Fielder started it all with a measly RBI single. And our BP got a day of rest thanks to Perez working his way thru 7 innings.
