He's always been great on defense, and stealing bases. Even if he plays the rest of the season and hits .235 you still have a chance to save runs on defense, and steal a run on the bases in close games down the stretch.

That's the thing with Murphy, he isn't a power hitter, he doesn't play great defense, he doesn't steal bases. So if he isn't hot getting hits he really doesn't bring anything else. If Gentry isn't hitting he is still able to bring other things to the game. That's what makes zero sense about the situation.
