I would say it's the case of a veteran pitcher getting the benefit against a rookie hitter (Mazara), but that doesn't explain why a stud like Hamels wouldn't get the same call.
It's the David Murphy strike zone- a strike when it's way outside to a lefty but a ball in the same location to a righty. Terrible.
Yeah, I don't get it either, same thing happens to Choo & Fielder quite frequently and seems to not matter about the pitcher, mostly just handedness of the hitter...
