Warriors remaining schedule

Friday vs. Memphis W

Sunday vs. New York W

Tuesday at Dallas L

Wednesday at San Antonio L

April 4 vs. Sacramento W

April 6 vs. Utah W

April 10 vs. Denver W

April 11 at L.A. Lakers W

April 13 at Portland L

April 14 vs. Minnesota W

April 16 at Denver L

7-4 too much to ask for? It would mean the Dubs get to 50 wins, and probably secure 5th place in the West.

The Memphis and Dallas games loom large. Assuming they take one of those and win the games they should win, they should be fine.

Portland's remaining schedule:

At Chicago (Toss up)

Home against Memphis (Likely loss)

At Lakers (win)

Home against Suns (toss up)

Home against Pelicans (win)

Home against Kings (win)

At Jazz (win)

Home against Warriors (win)

Home against Clips (win...Clippers have nothing to play for)

6-1 with two games too close to call. I don't see the Warriors catching them.

Hardly matters, 5th and 6th are basically the same this year, unless you have a strong preference for facing Houston or LA, and we don't even know which seed will face them.

Very true.

I'd rather the Warriors face Houston. I hate the Clips with a passion and couldn't stomach seeing them get their butts kicked by them.

As long as we don't fall to 7-9!

A final 51-31 record ? I'll take it

The West is so deep that they are basically it's own league. The Ws need to get scoring off the bench to advance. HB must come alive, Crawfish has to do his thing, Dray needs to chip in, JO needs to collect the garbage and my man Blake has to really run the show. Tough to beat the Clips or SA. They do have a better shot vs the Rockets or even OKC.

We need to hope that the rockets get the 3 seed then

Among GS, Portland, Memphis, Dallas, and Phoenix, the Warriors have by far the weakest remaining strength of schedule. They need to capitalize on that, if they go something like 6-5 or worse it's not a very good sign for the playoffs. Sure, they could play somewhat poorly and still make the playoffs, but these games are a test for them. Legit playoff teams ramp up and clamp down at this time of the year, the "who cares, it's only the playoffs that matter" excuse shouldn't apply here. This, right now, is where you need to get focused and prepared and get your rotations set.

Didn't catch the MEM game, but Bogut only played 4 mins? :gaah:

Dubs did win though, so 1 down, 10 to go.

Bogut got into a collision with Gasol under the rim, knees were banged around.

Good win though, Memphis is a quality team that is playing well now and obviously, a clear danger to the Warriors playoff positioning.

So apparently Bogut got kneed in the "pelvic area" and they are calling it a "pelvic contusion". No idea how serious that is. I remember Andris Biedrins had something like that that kept him out for a bunch of games, hopefully it's not that bad in Bogut's case. Last thing they need at this time of year is injuries.

I suppose any win is a "good" win, but the defense was underwhelming until the last 3:30. As it is the Grizz still shot 51% for the game.

Definitely NOT an elite D.

I think its a good win when you are playing a team battling for their playoff lives and you are missing your starting C and PF. Speights and O'neal played 60+ min and the Warriors could have folded down 7, but instead stepped up and won. I agree it wasn't elite defense, but you are much more pessimistic IMO on this board and get stuck on some of the other posters views right or wrong. You are better than that from the years of my reading of these boards and I usually enjoy your posts, but morons like TT seem to bother you too much.

Yeah, under the circumstances (Bogut/Lee) and considering the importance of the opponent, and the rough history of the matchup, I'm not going to complain about this one. Absolutely huge win for the playoff implications. And it was nice to see some of that rocking Oracle vibe come back that's been missing for a while -- come playoff time, we are going to need that to be there.

Curry and Blake led the team in blocks, LOL.

Definitely the wrong game with which to be making your ongoing point. The Dubs were going up against arguably the finest 4-5 combo in the league with their starting big men out. Memphis's high shooting percentage was due to the mismatches down low which not only created opportunities for Gasol and Randolph, but also open shots for the likes of Lee and Connelly.

When it came time to man-up, the team did. Great win, and, quite frankly, a good defensive effort when you consider all of the above.

Man, you are quite schizo between the Giants and Warriors. With the Giants it's all 'Morse will be fine...Vogelsong will be fine...Panda will be worth every penny...Dodgers are suspect...", with the Ws no win counts, nothing is good enough, beating a playoff team handily without their best defensive player and their PF and holding them to 93 pts is 'meh'. What gives?

Also, you can stop it with the 'elite' carping, it's already been established that the Ws defense is very good this year and constantly bringing up a certain word that no one can really agree on the definition of is kind of trollish. We get it, they aren't 'elite'.

:agree:

My only thing to add to this is, the Dubs aren't 100% healthy and by definition aren't playing their best yet. You can't play your best ball if you are missing one or more of your key players each night.

That being said, it just goes to bolster my point that Jackson is doing a good job with the roster, given the limitations that has been placed on him with injuries.

I'm going to catch the replay On Demand, and try to come up with some thoughts on how the Dubs managed "not to lose" this one, lol.

Dub fans have come a long way, from discussing their favorite pre lottery ping pong ball rituals to get higher picks for the team, to complaining about "bad wins".

As Jeff Kent would say, "enjoy the game.."

So question. How many teams are elite defensively? I only see the pacers as that
