Dude wasted 9 pitches battling smith and then realized, 'what the hell am I doing, there's two outs and zunino and Morrison are due up...'

K-Nino with his best AB. Give Smith credit getting runner over.

I have said it for decades, baseball is about quality outs. A good hitter gets out 70% of his AB's. A bad hitter 80% of his AB's. Quality outs like this inning.

Now do something different and hold a lead for a few innings.

Now Zunino was that so hard?
I keep saying it. Zunino is going to be a good hitter.

I know a sac fly doesn't prove it, of course.

His catching is already great for a young kid, and the bat will get there. I'm not a patient person, but I'm giving him a few more months.

I truly hope you are right.

How much of zuninio's problem was being called up to the majors way too early because of his well above average catching skills? He really needed a lot more help at the lower levels for his hitting. How likely is he to get his missing skill set in hitting at this level?

I agree, his defense makes it worth giving him a lot of time to get his offense figured out. Just accept him for what he is until he does.

yeah, that's the problem

he just broke 1000 professional PA's near the end of last season.

i think he'll figure out how to better handle pitches that aren't fast balls, and put up better quality AB's, like NW was talking about. it'll just be painful to watch him grow at this level.

Still think K-Nino needs to be sent to Tacoma for a month or we lose his offense for good. It would be for him and his future and not for the team and the present.

I agreed with Lloyd on pulling Kuma. He was leaving too many pitches dead center. Unfortunate luck for medina
