When I see who’s been getting in, Tom Chambers should’ve been in awhile ago…
Nah.
Not a snub at all.
He was a good player.
But if the HOF took every player who made 3 or 4 all star games, it would water things down way too much.
Does not have a HOF resume.
Hall of Very Good players get into the HOF.Yep...if they ever make a Hall of Very Good...Chambers can be inducted into that.

Chauncey Bilups is in the HOF. He was a good but unspectacular player. I know he had rings, but so does every player on those teams.
Michael Cooper just got in.
In your mind, Billups, Michael Cooper, Paul Westphal, Vlade Divac and MoNo, they don't. Only the elite get into the HoF...Tom Chambers was very good...he was not elite.
its debatable that if Billups was the best player on those teams. The defining characteristic of that Pistons champion team was there was no big time star. That makes a huge difference though.
Billups was the best player on a championship team. He has coached and been on TV as a basketball analyst.
All huge resume items that boost his appeal.
The championship being the biggest one.
Not really comparable resumes.

Cheeks were “elite” players. Really?
Cute, but the Gorilla didn’t score 20,000+ points in his career. It appears every eligible player who’s scored at least 20,000 points is in the HOF.I’d put the Gorilla in the HOF before Tom Chambers.
Chauncey was the guy that held that Championship team together. Michael Cooper was along for the Showtime ride.Chauncey Bilups is in the HOF. He was a good but unspectacular player. I know he had rings, but so does every player on those teams.

Or even by Byron Scott, who was also very good.I wouldn't go so far as to say that he was "along for the ride", he was an important part of the team.
But, unlike guys like Magic, Kareem and Worthy, his role (mostly defensive stopper) could have been filled by several other players and it wouldn't have changed what those teams accomplished.

That is what I meant by along for the ride. Could slot in another good player without changing the team results.
