It doesn't seem like the old "poster" of sports figures is as popular anymore - a whole slew of competing products these days. But they were the shit back in the day.

I'm curious though.... what hockey players did people have on their wall as kids? (Note: this may date some of us, ;) )

I remember I had an Alexander Mogilny poster and a Peter Bondra poster on my walls.

when I was 7 or 8 I had a koho/canadian tire/bauer ??? poster of Wayne Gretzky that we hung up in a room in the basement that my dad built with some sort of fucked up wall panelling that had a similar feel to ceiling tiles youd find in a suspending ceiling ... Im sure it was at least 24% asbestos ... pretty close to being a padded room

anyways ... my friends would come over and we'd throw darts at it

Back in the 1950's, the Montreal Canadiens had a large calendar. They had their team picture on the first page and then each month after that, had their minor league team pictures, Memorial Cup and Calder Cup Champions, player pictures and action photos. I looked forward to getting the calendar every year and hanging it my my wall, until they stopped printing them. They were also free.

It would be nice if the NHL teams started doing that again.

Canucks have been putting out a calendar for as far back as i can remember ... when i was a kid in the 80's they were free (and ugly with the jersey colour scheme)

now I think they are $4.99 with proceeds going to Canuck Place childrens hospice

I don't remember having many posters of any kind as a kid except one. I was in 3rd grade or so and my mother bought me a poster of Henry Winkler as "The Fonz". Even as a 9 year old all i remember thinking was wtf??? I did like Happy Days however.....

One of my sisters had David 'DUI' Cassidy on her wall...

I think I'm drunk now
The officer pulled me over
He said that I was weaving
Which is better than my singing

The only one I had was Bobby Orr's famous leap after scoring the winning goal in the 1970 SC. Wish I still had it

I didnt follow hockey as a kid. I have a Koivu courage poster that came out after his return from cancer hanging in my garage.

I have a framed Habs jersey hanging in my basement, and a sign with all of their jerseys through the ages. The Mrs has an autographed Andy Moog jersey hanging on the wall.

She's a keeper!

Even if its a Stars jersey? I know how popular they are here.

For a few years after he retired he had a really good website, affiliated with the Fort Worth Brahmas team he has/had a part of, that sold autographed items relatively cheap so she got a stick and a jersey.

Most of my room as a kid was Colts, including a giant Colts logo on one wall. Unitas, Moore, Berry, Marchetti. Old guys because by the time I was old enough to understand, they all sucked. The room changed dramatically in 1983.

And there was a LOT of Orioles stuff, most from before I was born. That was more a side effect of having a Grandfather who played for them. I had an Eddie Murray poster, but my favorite was Rick Dempsey.

I did have (and still have) a Gordie Howe puck, an "Only the lord saves more than Bernie Parent" bumper sticker and a few autographed programs from some Clippers/Blades/Skipjacks. Only ones I remember distinctly (and still have) are Mitch Lamoreaux and Jon Casey.

Brett Hull when he with the Blues.

Russ Courtnall when he was with the Habs.

Kevin Stevens when he was with the Pens.

Sean Burke when he was with the Whalers.

I think maybe a Montreal Patrick Roy poster too but I can't remember.
