Cap wizard howie

Just the facts for all of you ma'ams in this thread.
:wash:

The part he left off is bolded

"Contract Notes
Jason Kelce signed a 3 year contract with the Eagles on March 5, 2019. Kelce had two years remaining under contract but based on the contract structure we are valuing this as an entirely new contract. The total value of the contract is $24.5 million with $19 million guaranteed for injury and $10.5 million fully guaranteed at signing. The full guarantee consists of a $7.57 million signing bonus, $2 million 2020 roster bonus, and Kelce's 2019 salary. The Eagles can exercise a $7.5 million option for the 2021 league year in the early part of the 2020 league year. If the Eagles fail to exercise the option Kelce's salary will escalate to match the option figure and it will be guaranteed. The 2022 through 2024 seasons are void years that are included for the purposes of salary cap proration. The new contract reduced Kelce's 2019 salary cap charge by $4.056 million."

If they choose to exercise the option his cap hit in 21 jumps from from 8.4 to 15.9 million
If they don't exercise the option his cap hits(Dead money) for 22-24 will be

2022 2.9 million
2023 2.9 million
2024 1.4 million

Looking at Brooks contract he did the same a prorated bonus creating dead money in 21 and 22 both 1.59 million each

and Lane Johnson 22 and 23 2.71 million in dead money each

Eagles are definitely in win now mode all that dead money isn't going to do them any favors. Especially if they give Wentz a big contract.

Quite shrewd by Howie.
Always winning this little cap game inside the game.

He got money now from the 2021 cap year and he'll do the same thing in 2021.
Brilliant.

Track our Olinemen and the dead money as it materializes/ fails to.

Thanks for educating yourself and sharing here.

What a waste.
You can go to the dollar store & get a Center. One of the least important positions in football.

Come on guys - give @PhoenixEagles1 a break. You know he has been dying through all the Center signings......

Just another topic he is 100% wrong about.

I'm sure he'll tell us he faxed the NFL owners to get their opinions and that he's "waiting for their responses" before he decides to post fake fax results to "prove you wrong".

On a serious note, the money Kelce got now looks pretty reasonable.
