Again .. Read the context of Sick's statement.. The whole tradition it self is what he finds douchy not just Martin's case... Whether or not it's sinister it's besides the point... His statement is about having the rookies pay for the veteran is what he has problems with...

It didn't happen so how can it be a problem? He signed up for the trip, they shared the cost between all the O Linemen then once everything was booked and paid for he decided he didn't want to go leaving the group 15 grand short. They asked him to hold up his end of the bargain since they couldn't get a refund and he agreed. At least that's the story from one of the O Linemen who was there.

What is your fixation with Martin's case??? Again, it's not only the Dolphins who have Rookies pay for meals or trips... Other teams do this as well... Sick's statement is about the whole thing... Not just the one case...

Good point. This particular thread is about more than just the Martin case.
