Lawyer sues for wrongful death on behalf of Aaron's daughter. If they sue for breach of contract the money belongs to Aaron's estate and would be subject to claims of victims. Any money they get on this case whether viewed as extortion or hush money would not be attachable by the murder victims.

My guess is this is really an attempt to get about $5mill in nuisance settlement that they can keep free and clear. Since, Aaron has no longer been convicted of anything the breach of contract claim to recover the signing bonus has merit but would probably eventually be claimed by victims. The victims do not have standing to sue for the contract money so will get shutout.

Lawyer is winking at Pats and NFL implying give us something and "WE" all win. You pay less and we keep something....

The lawyer is throwing spitballs against the wall hoping that one will stick.

Michael McCann UNH Law Professor and Sports Law expert looked at the suits and said that they have no merit. he also says that they will have to find any incident where Hernandez came off the field and complained of a headache or vision problems or anything that could be related to a head injury AND that a medical professional ignored the symtoms and sent him back onto the field. Since the concussion protocols started sometime around 2007, it's very unlikely that anyone would risk their medical career letting him play with a head injury.

They're also filing suit against the University of Florida and the NCAA. It's a money grab. If everyone they sued gave up $2M each, the lawyers will get 30% which would be somewhere around $2.5M plus expenses which of course will be around another $500K.

The victims families would sue for their piece in a civil action. His daughter would be lucky to get $1M. The only people who make money are the lawyers.

The victims families won't get a dime of this. Since the suit is in the daughter's name for the loss of her father the daughter gets the money and victims' families weren't wronged by her.

Did not know that @BigKen thanks for that info. I thought for sure they would eventually sue them but hadn't heard they had yet
