1) Match up your best WR with Breeland

2) Go to work

Expect the Giants & Boys to follow the same formula in the coming weeks with Bryant & ODB

From what I can tell you can still bully the Redskins all day with a good OL in the run game. After that you can go after the middle of the field, or if you're Pitt and have a human cheatcode in AB, go deep over Breeland.

Totally agree. As we all know - how you look on the first game of the season is exactly how you will look for the rest of the year. :rolleyes2:

I was going to state the obvious "have a pulse" answer.

Don't think the defenders of Kirk will be out in force this week. :pound:

You think Breeland is going to get better? They clearly stated that Norman will stay on one side of the field and not move around. The system works in Seattle because they have good safeties and their CB opposite of Sherman is solid. Washington doesn't have anything special at safety and Breeland is trash

I gotta think they will give him so help over the top. He did look like crap, but 99% of the DBs in the league would look like crap singled up on AB. That guy is other wordly

The Redskins failed Breeland. 4th and 1 and you don't put Norman on AB seriously? If you're going to sell out for the run there, your best CB better be on Brown. Did they even have another WR on the field during that play or was that their 1 WR & 2 TE set?

Breeland was actually a pretty solid CB last year. Big Ben to AB is just too good one on one.

Yeah - it's pretty obvious that the Skins are keeping Norman on the left. I agree he should cover the best receiver. On that particular play though, Breeland had him pretty well covered. It was just a great catch and a remarkable throw.

And if you're going to pay Norman that type of money, he better be on the #1 guy at least 75% of the snaps. I'm not paying any CB that kind of money to sit on one side of the field.

Totally agree - If I'm playing the Skins I put my third receiver on that side

If I don't have a good TE, I would use a lot of twin & trips WR set to the opposite side of the field and let Norman guard the TE

Haha, nice. I remember when the Chiefs would lineup Frankie Hammond Jr on Sherman's side and just run slants and crossing routes the whole game with the other WR's because they were so bad. Actually ended up winning that game.

Stick to politics moron since you obviously know nothing about football. Maybe they should emulate the killer defense for the Saints. You also believe that they are going to simply stick with the same plan & you believe what coaches tell the media? LOL.

They will need to make adjustments but as others pointed out here a lot of this is due to the fact that Brown is in a league of his own. My bigger concern for the Redskins was the sorry run defense last nt. Oh well - I don't have high hopes at this time - we will see what happens for the remainder of the season.

Gruden noted it, but I was struck by how the Steelers pretty much played zone defense the whole game and Kirk Cousins struggled to beat the zone. He lacks arm strength and seems to do a poor job of hitting the soft spots in a zone. When he did make the right read he was often a little off and it allowed defenders to catch up and make a play on the ball or the receiver.

Norman is a great zone corner. And leaving him where he is, is the right move. You put him in man against the other team's top corner, and you neuter him doing what he does best. He's not a good man corner. Look at how Coates bullied him when he tried to bump. AB would have eaten his lunch all day if he tried to do that. Norman isn't strong or shifty enough to keep up with Brown.

The problem is, you need the rest of your defense to be able to play zone decently.

Also, you don't pay 15 million a year for a zone corner. That was Another Dumb Snyder Move ©.

D Hall is the FS over the top.

So no, they won't give him help over the top. They will give him someone to run beside as they chase the WR down the field.

Don't forget the very difficult "tackle the 33 year old RB and not just arm-whif him in the 4th quarter" play that Breeland needs to work on.
