what a dumb play. Lets let the defense know we are not going for the extra point, then have one of our guys act like a retard and not actually be in the play so we can now try to attempt to pull this off with a 10 man v. 11 man set up. Then, lets float a pass into the middle of their defense, giving them plenty of time to make an adjustment to the ball, and hope for the best.
For high school, I think it was pretty creative. Obviously, something like that wouldn't work against good teams or in college-pro. If they were up 62-7, I bet it was freshmen and sophomores out there playing. I don't think it would be varsity doing it. Why not just let the kids have fun for those few plays?
Doing shit like this is ridiculous & uncalled for.
If this was my son's team pulling these stunts, I would be sure to ask for the coaches head. I would go so far as to pull my son from the team.
The coach's reasoning for pulling these stunts doesn't makes sense.
"We have 32 seniors," Lawrence told MaxPreps. "We're trying to get of them in on special teams. We've been winning most games. We've been crushing everyone, so we've been trying to find things to make it fun for the kids.
First off, this was done early in the game. Secondly, if you have been blowing teams out, shouldn't all your players be getting a decent amount of playing time?
