If Lebron is going to the rack hard, I'll take Lebron over Kobe to get a big bucket. But... Lebron doesn't always do that.

The first one was legit.


Basically, the stats say that if you need someone to score in the last 5 seconds, take Kobe, especially in the regular season.

If you need someone to run the team and comeback or make clutch shots in the last minute, you take LeBron, and that's for regular season and playoffs.

Kerr was a virtual nobody when MJ dished to him for the mid-ranger jumper. Paxson was a solid veteran but someone who would hardly be mentioned these days if not for Jordan kicking it out to him.

The difference is, as I pointed out in my post, those were shots that those players took and hit all of the time. They did virtually all of their scoring from the perimeter. Same with Robert Horry (who also happened to have a history of hitting big shots), D-Fish and MWP when Kobe dished to them.

I mean, if you're dishing it to someone way out of their element, like dishing it to TT for a jumper, or dishing it to Dhantay Jones for 3, or lobbing it into Shump on the post... I agree.

But the percentages of Kerr or Paxson or Haslem taking an open shot in their element is better than even the best players in the world taking contested shots over a double-team. The results don't always play out the way, but that's the beauty of sports.

Haslem was out of his element Kerr and Paxson weren't.

Well, not really.

Almost all of Haslem's shots were 15 footers. I agree he is no Kerr or Paxson, but that was UD's shot and he made it regularly.
