Will be announcing his destination on Monday. Seems to be between Stanford and Nebraska. Stanford's defense is a perfect fit for him, he's much more of a 3-4 DE than a 4-3 and I'm sure coach Shaw let him know that. However, being close to home and playing for Nebraska has always been his dream. Will be interesting to see where he decides to go. I'm guessing Nebraska.

Definitely makes sense, I just thought distance would be an issue. If Nebraska had recruited him hard this might have ended up differently. Probably a smart choice for him though considering his skills don't translate too well to Bo's defense.

To be honest everyone said Stanford bc he didn't fit bo scheme defense wise....

No surprise a DL wants to play somewhere else haha

Nah, it's not that he's a DL it's that he's a DL that doesn't fit a 4-3 scheme... if he had the frame to add 30-40 pounds and slide inside we would have offered him in January IMO, and he would have accepted.

Too bad, for him, at the end of the day he was more concerned with his diploma reading sanford than NU, sounds like a butt hurt teenie bopper taking shots at the staff on the way out the door. We have enough undersized DT's as is, but it would have been great to have a guy with his heart on the team.

I can't really blame Bo and staff with this one walking, if he's willing to blow off his home state because they just didn't offer soon enough then maybe NU isn't the place for him

Good luck to him

Sounds like once he made the trip to Palo Alto, his mind was made up. When I was out there, I absolutely hated the traffic. No way would I ever want to live there. The price of houses is ridiculous for what you get for the money.

Not sure what his degree will be in, but if it is engineering of some sort a very fine choice of a school. I know several Stanford graduates and they are fine people.

He said the ocean is 12 miles away from campus. I wonder if he knows that ocean is cold up there? I guess he will find out.

That why I knew we weren't gonna get him he's perfect for 3-4.

If we were in the big 12 he would fit for us but were not

If we end up landing Newell I won't be as upset over this, it still sucks not getting him on the team, with our luck across the entire DL he would have played for sure

As a junior, Phillips had 115 total tackles (80 unassisted and 35 assisted) including 35 tackles for loss, 11 sacks and 16 pass break ups.

Dude spent a lot of time in Class A backfields. I don't blame him at all for looking out for his best interests. Stanford's hot lately and could be considered elite status. They play physical defense and are disciplined.

If you cut his Junior season #'s in half (for FBS football) they'd still be better than Stein or Cam.

It's the fault of the parents nowadays......

When I was 3 years old my parents told me how it was.........the cot damn Huskers were #1 no matter what. In all sports.

I don't care if I was a 1-star or a 5-star coming out of High School..........I would go to Nebraska. Don't give one shit what anyone says my best interests are.

Did not like it Nebraska took so long to offer.

You ask anyone who knows the guy, they'll tell you he's got a big fuckin ego.

Same here, JJM. I had this husker football helmet basically identical to Jack Hoffman's, and I had a number 15 Tommy Frazier jersey. I used to picture myself running the option, juking furniture and diving into bean bag chairs pretending they were the end zone.

If I had turned out to be an elite football player, I wouldn't have gave a shit if every school in the country had offered me, I'd have played for Nebraska.

There's a disconnect lately with Omaha fans about Husker football to be honest. That loyalty just isn't there anymore and it scares me.

I'm not saying Harrison Phillip's parents are shitty people, or that they didn't raise their child right, but they sure as shit didn't raise him "right".
