Exactly. I don't like Harper and he's kinda a dbag himself but he absolutely should have just beat the hell outta papelbon. That guy needs to take a liner off his head.

Paps is defiantly top 5 DBs in the game today. Harper may be up there, but he is still a kid, so should be given SOME leeway (not complete, but a little give).

But in that situation, what is the point of sprinting it out? If the ball is dropped, there is no chance he makes it to second anyway, and equally no chance he is thrown out if he walk/jogs to first. Sprinting THAT one out would be false-hustle.

Haven't read much about this, but probably stems from the recent plunking Papelbon did and then Harper in an interview saying it is stupid and how he would probably get plunked now.

I guarantee it's much more about the comments from earlier in the week than it was about him jogging out a pop fly.
