I watched the game again, with the single goal of monitoring Burfict, and he played a heck of a game, in every facet. He has a nose for the ball, sheds blockers well, and wraps up. He's been fantastic mentally too, not making dumb plays. He could easily have retaliated with Colon and got flagged. Also, back in one of the early games, he had a QB start a slide directly in front of him. Burfict could have easily laid him out, a la Geathers hit on Green, risking a penalty, but pulled up. Little things like that show he's learning. I'm very excited about him.

Side note, I can't wait til he just blows up some running back, and knocks him out of the game with a huge hit. I'm writing up a column with the headline: BUR-FUCKED!!

Im still extremely surprised he was not drafted at all. I understand he was passed over because of character concerns, but his combine (40 time) and performance on the field lowered his draft stock enough for teams to be willing to skip over him. I wonder how many teams are mad they passed him up?

I would have to imagine any team in need of a young talented LB is kicking themselves, but can't say you blame them either. A guy who was letting himself spiral out of control during the most important stage of his career could not necessarily be counted on to be a long term solution in the middle of someones defense.

With that said, I am really glad he is a Bengal. We might finally develop a decent LB, hopefully Marvin can see that Maualuga is a waste of space and just replace him with Burfict.

just hope he isn't o'dell thurman 2.0, but I really don't know him. People do grow up, he might be one of the ones that does.

Of course not, i understand why he wasnt taken. But Im definitely surprised that he wasnt taken as a flier in the seventh round by anybody (he was at one point considered a first round talent). Of course, I said the same thing about Dwight Jones, and we all know how well that turned out.

Difference is, Vontaze has never been in trouble with the law and hasn't done drugs. All his issues stem from on field performance and attitude. Cure that, cure the player. Unless he decides he needs to get high to make up for his good behavior on the field.

Even when Colon was trying to have man sex with him the other night on the field he still held his cool. Probably needed a wet wipe to clean up, but held his crap together and didn't retaliate.

:washing: Vontaze after the game washing Colon's herd of man babies off of him.

Not sure when (or who) did the deed, but apparently Colon had some dreads plucked out.

Then I guess he should shave his head like a real athlete and stick his helmet on. If you have hair hanging out of your helmet, I have zero sympathy for you, and thaty goes for Peko, Maualuga, BenJarvus, etc. Cut your fucking hair.
