It's a tough question. The recruit committed before Harbaugh. Thus, is not a 'Harbaugh' guy.

Recruiting is going well for him. This his first class, right?

I remember when Strong came in, he arrived when the recruiting was just about over. He went and got a few guys, but mainly they just worked to keep those Mack had already been recruiting for several years.

I dont really see anything wrong with Harbaugh not taking someone who had been recruited early by the previous regime: what bothers me though is his doing this at this late stage. But I'm sure it happens elsewhere.

Although, I have to imagine there's been at least a hint prior to today. Seems odd that it would be fine one minute and his offer is pulled the next. Conversations have to have happened before this -- right?

It's just odd to me that Harbaugh would randomly cut a 4 star top 250 OT recruit like this. What's the angle here? It's not like this kid was a three star.

I wish the NCAA would allow a one day early signing period sometime in the late summer or even fall. That way schools and kids couldn't yank the carpet out from under each other near NSD. If a school is committed to a kid, and a kid is committed to a school, let them have one day right before the high school football season starts to sign the LOI. That way it's a done deal. If not, then they have to wait to the NSD in February to sign the LOI. Have a clause that if the school changes head coaches, or the kid gets arrested (DUI, gun possession, drug issues, etc.) then the LOI can be disregarded. Otherwise, they are stuck with each other. Just my two cents.

Maybe the kid had an issue with law enforcement, or grades slipped and it's just not public......yet!

Michigan can't comment on it, and I doubt they would. But it has to be something like that -- right? I mean, why lose a talented kid like that. Even if they were recruiting a higher ranked offensive lineman, not sure I like the move with one in the top 250 already locked down.

What's even more weird is this: USA Today names All-USA first and second team offense

Swenson was on the second team USA Today All USA list. Why would Michigan drop this kid?

I guess I don't feel too sorry for him. I'm sure he has 10 schools in the top 25 of recruiting that have made an offer to him already.
