Holland states that he would be ready for the majors after 1 more start but as of now I would have to disagree.

He's a goofball but no one wants the ball more than him. He would start Tuesday if they'd let him. They need to bring him along at the right pace.

Seattle hit us with their best shot, we had to face iwakuma and King Felix. I'm just glad to leave without getting swept. The team would've been extremely demoralized. How can you go from sweeping the leader of your division to getting swept by a team below you? The mariners are a bad matchup for us now. Trumbo Cruz, Cano, and Seager have all given us a lot of trouble in the past and they are half of their lineup..... Go figure. Let's just take care of business against the Twinkies need 2/3 there.

Colby pitched well enough, but King Felix is a tough pitcher. Days like today go that way some time.

This is true. But as baseball would have it, we've owned him since 2011. He's like 9-14 with a 5+ ERA. One of those weird things about the great game, Seattle plays us tough, but their best pitcher struggles against us.

To further illustrate your point.

Seattle’s 4-2 win Sunday gave the Mariners the three-game series and gave them seven wins in nine meetings against the Rangers this season.

It was the kickoff of five straight series against teams currently at or below .500 and a stretch run loaded with games against teams kicking around below .500. Of the final 52 games, 29 are against teams most politely called “non-contenders.” That should be an advantage. It is not. The Rangers are 25-34 against teams currently at or below .500.

That's a trend we'll have to reverse if we're to make a push.

That ownage stopped in 2013. His 2014-15 numbers against us are impressive.

I thought we beat him up pretty good last year too. Do you have last year's numbers handy?

I'm not particularly concerned about this seasons numbers, at least not yet, b/c we've still got 3 more series with them.

But I would indeed like to see how he ended up 2014 with us. Thanks

April 16, 2014 @ TEX - 7 IP, 4H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 9K (no decision, TEX won game)
April 23, 2014 @ SEA - 6 IP, 5H, 3 ER, 3 BB, 4K (no decision, TEX won game)
June 13, 2014 @ SEA - 8.1 IP, 4H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 6K (loss)

Those are the only times we faced him last year. Seattle lost all 3 games, and he got tagged with one of them, but his line for 2014 against TEX was:

21.1 IP, 13H, 5 ER, 6 BB, 19K

Adding 2015, and the totals are:

42 IP, 26H, 10 ER, 10 BB, 40K over 6 starts. So yeah, he's figured us out.

Well, we are not the same team offensively as we used to be also.

Again.....thanks.

Does seem he isn't the "doormat" we had him pegged to be earlier.

Shin-Soo Choo on controversial Korean diary entry: If I want to play, I have to play better | | Dallas Morning News

I lean towards this being a cultural uniqueness in expression as well. He should be frustrated, I'd have a bigger issue if he wasn't.

After reading the article from EG I'm not sure exactly how to take it.

One side of me says, "ya know, the guy acted like a total A-hole to Banny earlier over, what I considered, damn near nothing. So is he being a self-centered prick or what?"

The other side is, "there's a big language gap here, and the person doing the translating is an unknown. Shouldn't we give him the benefit-of-doubt?"

I agree, he CERTAINLY should be frustrated with himself. Not with the guy who doesn't want to put a substandard hitter out there against LHers. If he can't interrupt his own numbers, there is a problem and it looks a whole like him.

I still hope JD will be able to trade him in the off season.

Speaking of Aces that we used to beat up..... I'm rooting for the Blue Jays to win the AL East. The last thing I want to deal with is another " win or go home" scenario with David Price. I can't believe Detroit traded him within the American League.

What's the difference to them? They're not competing and he's a rental.

Just get me in the playoffs and then worry about who to deal with.

If the Jays have success in the playoffs, Price would probably consider staying. If price stays, Detroit just made it harder on themselves to make the playoffs in upcoming seasons.

Meh. Take the best offer you get and roll with it.
