I read it wrong and the Astros were down3-1 but it wasn't over. They scored 3 in the ninth to take the lead and Gregorson just came on for the save and blew it.

Converted to CF duty eh? Shame we couldn't have seen this change in position being such a positive.

I would like our young middle infielders to start getting some time in CF so as to increase their versatility and worth to the club. They have done that with Ryan Cordell.

I'm honestly not too upset about today. Would've been nice to get another series win, but it wasn't to be. However, the Astros lost and I honestly think they'll continue to fade. We're headed to Minnesota to face an Twins team that is hobbling into this series, so while I know they usually play us tough, I like our chances to get another series win and put them down in the wild card race.

Derek goes 3.1 innings and gives up 3 runs. All 3 runs scored in the first inning on 4 hits. He struck out 5 while giving up 7 hits total and 1 walk.

Brinson got a HR for Frisco and is hitting .385 in AA now with an OPS of 1.033. It is definitely a small sample size, but in his first taste of AA that is really encouraging. It is much better than the start Joey Gallo has gotten off to in AAA.

After the 3 HR game I believe he struck out 3 times the next game and went hitless. Today he it a HR and went 2 for 5. Of course he struck out the other 3 times to the plate. It will probably click all at once one day for him. The last 10 days he has 7 HRs and 20 strikeouts. Besides those 7 HRs during that time he has 1 double and 1 single for 9 hits total.

They had a chance to get to him, but couldn't break through. Didn't help that some hard hit balls found gloves.

He'll still strike out a lot. I just keep reminding myself that he's struggled every time he was promoted for a couple months and then adjusted.

We scored as many runs in the 11th inning yesterday as we did in the other 28. Way it goes sometimes.

Our BP has looked much better with Diekman and Dyson. Was watching Dodgers - Pirates game and the Dodgers BP is terrible.

Here is some info on Holland in his start tonight. Holland states that he would be ready for the majors after 1 more start but as of now I would have to disagree. But much of that depends on his next outing. Since we are in a playoff race we need him to be up to speed otherwise let someone else pitch. Don't want to just give games away.
